Hello!
Today I have some more Akello work for your perusal!
First, let's take a look at some sketches for Akello's second pose. Now something I learned in Amir's chapter is that if we make the poses too different obviously then all the outfits need to be be drawn again which can very quickly build up into an unmanageable work load for just one artist. Going into Akello's chapter this was one of the things I wanted to be sure I kept my eye on without sacrificing meaningful body language. Going off my original concept sketch, Altas, as always, came back with some great options.

So you can see we're still giving him a lot of emotive power still but we are trying to keep Atlas from having to render several outfits MANY times. (Though that could ALWAYS be something we go back and add later)
Next, take a look at the finalized color for one of Akello's outfits.

Altas does particularly well with fashion and even since Amir's chapter has only grown in their ability show different fabrics and cuts expressively. Personally, I love the inclusion of shearling trim on Akello's jacket, it feels like an organic, rugged touch and the earth tones REALLY suit him. I'm super stoked that we get to see that Akello is stylish in his own flavor and really a sensibly fashionable man.
Stay tuned for more Akello updates and I'll be back later this week with my tentative holiday schedule.
