Progress Report #6: New year, new demo 🎉
Added 2021-01-04 01:19:46 +0000 UTCHey all!
I wish you a healthy new year and hope that you made it through the holidays unscathed.
In the last few weeks I have used my time to work on Triple X-Com. But my libido can only handle so much, which is why the tease is not final, yet. But it's getting close!
As promised, but with a bit of a delay:
New Triple X-Com Demo / Direct Link
Triple X-Com Changelog (Demo Version 3):
- Captain Eva can now be interacted with! She has multiple scenes which are unlockable by upgrading the command room.
- New Special Encounter: The River. (a bunch of hidden stuff in there)
- Task length and intensity rebalanced slightly. The average task is 40 seconds long now, instead of 50 seconds. And...
- ... I've also added a "Task Length" option before the start of a new mission. It changes most timers and intensities during random battles. (Not available during the tutorial mission)
- It should be more unlikely to get "Edge" tasks after "Flaccid" tasks now. Please let me know if you still encounter awkward combinations of tasks.
Thanks for all your feedback again. I tried to incorporate most of it.
Balancing is an ongoing thing I'm working on and is still not final. Like, the first Short Missions after the tutorial still have the potential to be a tiny bit too brutal. Send me a message if you find anything too easy or frustrating.
25 Patrons, yay!
Welcome to every new patron! ❤️ I really appreciate your support.
Thanks to you, we have hit the new milestone and I will write an article about some technical stuff from 'Tale of the Succubus Hunter' and what I've learned since then. (some of the code is really terrible 😅)
Expect it to be published around next weekend. If there is something specific you want me to go into detail with, let me know.
Plans for January
I plan to finalize Triple X-COM within the next 3 weeks (plus ~2 weeks of testing before public release). Again, no promises. It's possible that I won't have as much time this month as I'd like.
"Negative Reinforcement" will also be ready for public release soon. I have mapped out the things I want to add to it. By now, it has been almost-complete for way too long.
Thank you for your continuous support, guys. Have a great day!
