OSPod 111 After-After Show-Show!

The gang longs for the halcyon days of Early Youtube and talks about the killer architecture of Luigi's Mansion 3, how Red thinks the horror fishing videogame Dredge could have been tweaked to actually scare her, Jacob Geller's "Fear Of-" video series, horror as a genre, and the merits of art for its own sake!

Oh wow yeah (I just got to minute 16) wonder what she'd think about extinguishing the sun haha. Come to think of it, there's no avatar or event (as far as I can remember, except for Simon's failed thing) that focuses on the deep sea. I feel like it's the parallel to deep space manifestations.

Oops, sorry! I didn't know the enter button would post the comment. It's always a guessing game, isn't- Hello, John. Apologies for the deception, but I wanted to make sure you started reading, so I thought it best not to announce myself.

No comment section on Apple Podcasts, so I'm posting this here. I have no idea what that snack from CVS you were talking about is, so I'm just imagining Malamar from Pokémon.

The thing with Dredge is something I had happen when watching The Rig (an Amazon show) - starts off feeling like it’ll be Lovecraftian Horror but about halfway or so through the first season it went kind of a different route. Didn’t mind season 2, though. Still miss the Lovecraftian potential they didn’t use in season 1 but it was enjoyable on its own merits.

Commenting on the OS Podcast [not the AASS] - to Indigo - you've likely been told this already, but in older times, the dark chocolate got soft in hot weather, so Nabisco only sold them in fall & winter [Oct thru March]. NOW Nabisco sells them only Oct thru March because of the tradition & the lure of scarcity.

FYI, Capricon is in a *major* budget crisis for 2020 Reasons(tm). If you enjoy Capricon, this may be the last year they can run. :-(

Speaking of horror media, Red have you heard of or seen the teaser for Knights of Guinevere? It's an upcoming Indie 2D-animated Horror pilot produced by Glitch Productions (same people who made Murder Drones & The Amazing Digital Circus) and created by none other than Dana Terrace, it's gonna be wild and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as well as your thoughts on Indie animation as a whole.

Your disappointment with Dredge reminds me of a horror fantasy book I just finished. I was expecting it to go in a specific direction which would have amped up the horror by like 300%, but it never did. Now I kinda want to write my own story that goes where I was expecting this book to go...

It kinda just sounds like Red is a Dark/Vast avatar straight out of The Magnus Archives.

I don't like 90% of horror media. I don't like being scared--I've had more than enough of that in my life. But I do like eldritch creatures and eldritch locations, and things that are unsettling in such a way that make your mind start thinking, that stay with you long after you've finished watching, reading, or playing. I was going to watch the Fear of Dark video two nights ago, but it was freaking me out too much, so i'm going to be smarter and watch it during daylight hours. As a person who is extremely susceptible to being cold, I'm definitely afraid of the cold. Anyway, I always love hearing Red talk about art. She has such interesting insights.
