tamaya was also the name of a famous fireworks maker in the Edo period, so it became the thing to call out during fireworks festivals. Kagiya was another famous fireworks maker from the same period and was also called out at the fireworks displays.

Dang I freaking love this! I think you're on to something with that. He does stop to take it all in a lot of the time. I'm glad you pointed that out. That concept in general is really awesome to me. Gonna take a page outta Rimuru's diary and start really soaking in the moments more often.

Whoa that's pretty rad. So this was kinda like the origin story of festivals in Tempest. I love it.

Ah nice, glad to know this.

I was inspired to look more into the concept of impermanence, mujou. Watching fireworks, is one example of the celebration of this concept. "In essence, the Japanese concept of impermanence encourages us to recognize the transient nature of life and to find beauty and meaning in the fleeting moments and experiences. It's about embracing change, appreciating the present, and finding a sense of peace and acceptance in the face of impermanence." There's some other terms associated with this, mono no aware, wabi-sabi, etc. Having learned this, I wonder if Slime isn't one of the most Japanese isekai out there. I wonder if this isn't one of the secrets to its success. Rimuru often stops to enjoy the moment, and the whole idea is core to his personality.

You can consider all the other festival episodes in Slime to stem from this original festival. Btw, a lot of the stands are ones I've seen in many festival episodes of anime, but a lot of them are completely new to me. I wonder if they didn't dig for some that are not seen so much anymore, but are even more nostalgic, or are they original to the anime?

The term "tamaya" in Japanese refers to a memorial altar dedicated to the spirits of deceased ancestors in the Shintō religion. It is also associated with ancestor worship, where it serves as a place to honor and remember forebears.

this is just played for laughs but shuna is acting like a yandere when Shion complains about her kimono being too tight around her chest, Shuna — while not exactly flat-chested herself — giggles and flashes a Psychotic Smirk coupled with Empty Eyes as she says that large chests get in the way of dressing

Cerulean Spectre

great reaction
