great reaction

Cerulean Spectre

I really love the plot twists that starts here. it makes this story a lot more intricate and enjoyable. I felt like you guys when i watched it for the first time.

So in regards to that Monocle, small little detail you can pay attention to. its not story relevant or anything, just another point to how much detail is in this show. (its also something revealed in a single sentence in the light novel in exactly this chapter, again, no spoilers, just a fun fact): if you pay attention in this episode, his vision while he takes off the monocle is the same even when seen through it, and in fufure episode you can notice: he puts it on the wrong eye. that is correct, his monocle is fake, he just wears it for looks, hes just kinda weird like that

Ahhh okay. I knew we had seen him before just couldn't place him. Ma clan and brute strength, he seems like a decent fellow so far

The Heck Podcast

Okay that's kinda what I was thinking parboiling was. Like a flash boil.

The Heck Podcast

Yeah you'll never catch me eating pufferfish. Not that I'm afraid of the poisoning so much but just don't have the right tastebuds for seafood ha! For real though I do enjoy Maomao being in this new area and getting to have a good bit more freedom. More mysteries!!

And events that are seemingly not connected are very much connected!

Basen, the soldier who accompanied Maomao to inspect the kitchen, is the same person who was training with the sword with Jinshi in episode 12. Jinshi complimented him on his brute strength and his affiliation with the Ma clan. :)

I also had to look up the history of the monocle. Because I was curious. Early 1800's Europe, the timeline of the series isn't really set other than it is sort of Imperial China.

Edward Lott

Parboiling is semi-boiling fish in the first step of preparing a fish dish. It doesn't completely cook the fish, just gets it ready for the next step in the recipe. I freely admit that I looked that up. Ad for the monocle man I will say nothing! NOTHING! I have a post it note on my computer "NO SMEGGING SPOILERS!!!"

Edward Lott

I will say that you double posted this one.

I want to say so much, but I know I'll spoil something if I do, so I'm just gonna say that down for the ride! I love this show so much and don't eat puffer fish! LOL! I don't know, I've actually heard it's really good, but I'm a wuss, lol! I will say, I like seeing Maomao in the outer palace. It's a nice change and we're getting even more little mysteries and more Jinshi. I crack up every time I see her smile at him in that one scene! Poor Jinshi! LOL! I love them! Also, helicopter parent is a good description of his attendant!

to parboil is to partially cook food by boiling it for a short time 16:04 Jinshi.exe has overloaded, reboot required.22:52 Oh there is a very shady character you've seen twice (not Lakan) lots of things going on in the background that are slowly coming to a boil. Check your notes (you are taking notes, right?) little seeds have been dropped.
