Your review of the show and the episode is so on point till now. Loving it. This show is about simple and slow story telling focusing on small details and small moments and stitching it beautifully to keep us engaged

“Have Rick and Korbin never come across the concept of ‘blind faith’ in any films they’ve watched?
The funny bit to me was also how his urban friend also believes in haunted tree and looks visibly scared just like many of us 😁
The genius of Panchayat lies in its writing. Abhishek feels his job is pointless, that he’s just wasting time. But in this very episode, he brings about a small yet meaningful change — solving a problem for the villagers, and for himself.
He contributes at the grassroots level — not as a larger-than-life savior like Mohan Bhargava in Swades, but as a guy who simply wanted a solar light for his own convenience. And in the process, everyone benefits. That’s as jugāḍu (resourceful, quick-fix, low-cost problem-solving) as it gets — and that’s exactly what makes it so honest and relatable.

That's odd. I thought Rick and kKorbin, you would both see the complexity in the 'simpleness'. This is about Abhishek, a young man who is not in the place he wants to be. Keeps stewing inside and complaining about it and feels he does not have the agency to change it. This episode for me, is not about the haunted tree but Abhishek's inability to speak his mind and ask for what he wants (not just the solar light, but what he wants from life) . Even in the end, it was Vikas who asked for it. The first several episodes are about Abhishek's arc. While he is outwardly learning about the village and how to manage it, he is truly learning about himself. In today's parlance, he is finally 'adulting' (what a stupid word!).

Waiting for episode 3 already. All other hindi reactions can wait Korbin. This should be on top priority. Give us more of Panchayat. A gem of a show.

It might feel like nothing much is happening at first but that’s actually what makes Panchayat so beautiful.
It’s all about rural life and the small things like the everyday moments.
The storytelling is super simple and peaceful not loud or dramatic. But if you give it some time it grows on you beautifully , and that’s why people love it so much.

I think we find a lot of comfort in this show. Reminds some not of the same village experience but of similar experiences at family homes in villages and small
Towns. Where time seems to slow down, problems are different, people are so different. I wouldnt call it simple though- it s the show that shows it in a simple way :) The perspective is from an urban person s point of view, and that s interesting!

the beauty is in the simplicity... everyday challenges in a laidback village and small but real problems than urban, make-believe, self-created emergencies
