yeah.. pretty great movie.. totally forgot about the last battle.. :D so nice i got to watch it again with you :D the animations were gorgoeus.. :o not 100% sure but pretty sure Yuuki wasnt actually there.. (cause it doesnt make sense) but Asuna did use the skill Yuuki gave her so maybe it was just a visualization as they use it together ? oh boy.. im not ready for alicization.. :// like.. at all :D

Dethrox

personally i would liked more GGO and would happily watch it :D but its your money :D your call :)) didnt really liked alicization.. and i dropped it somewhere in first season :D so ill be kinda new there :o but you dont need to worry about that :D

Dethrox

I would say that he also first Finishes the SAO Main Story and watches the 47 Episodes from Season 3, and then he can watch the Spin Off GGO Alternative.

@SwitchOfficial honestly I have no idea after SAO. Probably something from my anime list that is one cour in length and I've rated 10 or 9. I'd like him to get through few series quickly rather than spend a long time on one series like is the case with SAO currently xD

SAL

It is your commission at the end of the day, so your opinion is what matters most but I personally agree with SwitchOffical. I think it would be best to finish the mainline story first rather than jump into a spin-off with a whole new cast of characters Then again, Alt GGO is a short series with only 12 episodes, so those who want Alicization won’t have to wait too long, if that is what you choose to do

Honestly, after watching the Movie, I'm kinda down to move to Alicization and skip SAO Alt: GGO for now. Of course, if many people want one over the other first, I'm down either way. I'll probs give my answer to Arceus in a week or so which one he'll do next. More likely to go for Alicization I guess.

Aight finished the movie~ God I forgot how hype that last fight is! You know, SAO might not be a deep story but my god if it isn't still enjoyable. This movie pulled stuff from every detail of the show. We had recurring characters, they not only brought SAO monsters back but also the original outfits, and more importantly, the plot brought back to be tied to SAO itself and the final fight was even in SAO so that was very nice. Not sure if the GGO guys should've been there but oh well xD. I noticed that you mentioned "protag eyes". I've personally been keeping a close *eye* on them. At the end of this movie when Kayaba said that he "believes in something more now", meaning Kirito's mysterious way of breaking his game. I am kinda intrigued what there is to it and if/how the golden eyes (or should I say Gleam Eyes because that was the Minotaur Boss name that they beat in SAO and that would be a fun reference) have any impact in the future. My guess is that the golden eyes are indicating when Kirito is tapping to something beyond that allows him to quite literally tap into "protagonist powers" for the lack of a better term xD. I am very interested in seeing if the show takes that in any direction. You mentioned the soundtrack being good and I have to agree. A good bunch of the songs immediately reminded me of Fate/Zero and that's no wonder because the same person was in charge of the music: Kajiura Yuki. If I had to describe this movie myself, it would be something like this: "This felt like a whatever SAO movie in the first half but with gorgeous visuals and a neat little idea of having Augmented Reality in it, but the latter half and especially the last quarter of the movie really stepped up in plot and pace and animation. A movie that got better the further you got into it. Also Asuna nipple be blessed." Glad you enjoyed it, I did quite so as well!

Id personally like to see him continue the main story with alicization and swing back around to SAO Alt: GGO. but to be fair SAO Alt is the only season I havent seen so i dont know. Im also curious, after he gets through all of SAO and its spinoff , what series do you have in mind next? Accel world perhaps? Since its SAO adjacent?

Switch Official

I could be wrong but doesn't Augma scan the enviroment and transform objects in real world into others so there are no "invisible" cars or buildings to crash into and then the game areas are like shut off from public traffic, right? I coulr misremember tho.

SAL

Yay the movie is here!! Gonna watch it a bit later. I asked this somewhere way back but any opinions on which one Arceus should watch next? 1. SAO Alt: GGO, then Alicization (so release order) 2. Skip SAO Alt: GGO and watch it after everything else

SAL

This movie makes no sense, You'd think if you survived being stuck in SAO you'd keep the hell away from anything even close to nerve gear tech for the rest of your life, Also, how do AR players don't get hit by cars or smash into buildings or literally die while playing, most of the time SAO has a lot of plot holes that I usually ignore because of the good animation and fight scenes but this movie takes it to a whole other level, I've seen fanfics with better writing than this movie.

Some Extra Information for the Movie Ordinal Scale, that they released in a Extra Light Novel Volume that was Created as an Extra Giveaway when the Movie aired in Japan: Yuuna went to the same kindergarten, elementary school, and middle school as Nochizawa Eiji, but then moved to an all-girls high school. During her high school years, Yuuna accepted Eiji's invitation to play Sword Art Online with him, showing interest in the musical skills present in Sword Art Online. Yuunas End in SAO: On October 18, 2023, as Nautilus had not been responding to her messages for a couple of days, Yuna found him wearing a disguise in Jaileum in a poor attempt to be unrecognised. Realising that Nautilus had not been allowed to the boss battle based on his appearance, she suggested going for a meal at a restaurant at town. At the restaurant, as they were talking about Yuna's desire to join the Clearers, they suddenly heard another player asking for help. Upon the player revealing that his party members were trapped in a field dungeon, a rescue party was formed, with Yuna, filled with resolution, deciding to join it. At the field dungeon on Floor 40, the group found the endangered party members in a cell with infinitely respawning monsters attacking them, and the dungeon boss, the Feral Warder Chief, guarding the lever to open the cell. As activating the lever would require the players to come within the boss's range, thus causing it to engage them, while it was unlikely to get the entire group out of the room safely before the doors closed again, it was proposed to defeat the boss instead of retreating. While the other players wavered on the course of action, Yuna had the endangered players come close to the door to sing a song that would heal them. Yuna's song gave the players the strength to execute the plan, and thus the boss battle began. During the battle, Yuna helped attack the boss from the sides while the highest-leveled players kept the attention of the boss on themselves. Although the battle proceeded smoothly for the next eight minutes, when the boss's Hit Point gauge was lowered to the red zone of its last bar, about fifteen extra minions descended on the boss room from holes in the walls, while the boss executed an usual area of effect attack during the distraction. Thus, the majority of players engaging the boss suffered paralysis, while the players engaging the minions were soon overwhelmed. At that moment, Yuna, the only unparalysed damage dealer, sung a special song that drew the attention of all the minions onto her. By running around the room with the minions in pursuit, Yuna was able to give the others enough time to defeat the boss, but was killed by the minions the moment the boss was vanquished.
