I was thinking the exact same thing. All Harry knew is that the COS is warded off but assuming that there might be a hocrux inside it is a bit of a leap. From the information he currently has it’s very difficult to say if Tom really made Hocruxes or not.

2024-01-04 13:54:25 +0000 UTCApologies, but my memory is not what it used to be, so I guess I've forgotten important pieces of the story. Why exactly is Harry so certain that Tom created Horcruxes, or even where those Horcruxes are? Logically, the Founders' artifacts should have been turned into such, but they weren't. Nor has Tom's appearance changed in the slightest way - while it's one thing to use magic to disguise one's appearance, it's another to not be detected when meeting people like Dumbles. Riddle Manor being guarded heavily implies nothing - maybe Tom uses it as a base of operations for his Knights. His constant obsession with the Prophecy is another thing - even Dumbles said that it only really meant anything because Riddle took it too seriously.

2024-01-04 09:59:27 +0000 UTCFantastic. Been dying to read more of this, even if I'd like there to be some more interaction between him and Narcissa. I think that this might be where he's headed next though and it's not like he has much of a choice and a dire need for a hand or two with his planned adventure at Hogwarts. Love the interaction between Grindelwald and Dumbledore as well, they seem so much more alive in your story. Likeable even, as they appear more human. I would find it quite strange though if Dumbledore wouldn't already start scheming and thinking about contingencies in case Harry fails. Or maybe even lend a hand - I mean if he finds time to teach, he certainly finds time for this. Thanks again for the excellent work on this chapter, I'm enjoying the quotes you use as well. Cheers.
