Come on... they have to survive! Don't make my heart stir like that. I highly doubt Harry is going to let anyone he falls in love with come to harm (he's already plenty powerful enough). Looking forward to the next chapter. Last question: do you plan on releasing another hp fanfic in the future (possibly after you're done with CoP and PoP)?

I have it pre-written since I’ll be travelling for a few weeks, but I’m taking this week off from posting due to the holidays, then I’m posting two chapters of CoP next week. This will be the week after, I think, but I could change my mind on the order. And yes, there is a pairing planned — but whether that pairing goes well or even if either/both of them survive is something you’ll have to read and find out :)

Also, do you have a pairing planned for the story (you don't have to spoil it)? I'm really hoping Harry won't end up alone at the end of the story - considering the path he's walking down.

Now I wonder how he would treat muggle children, friendly or cold indifference they will grow up afterall. But I guess this will be a topic of the future chapters when Harry can finally push for Grindelwalds dream and has to describe how his ideal world will look like.

2022-12-26 08:11:29 +0000 UTCHarry was an abused child. He understands that sort of cruelty. It’s natural for people to latch onto their own experiences. Every muggle he met treated him awfully, then Grindelwald showed him some of the worst hate muggles have ever shown wizards. It’s natural that he would smile when thinking about revenge. But child abuse is something personal for him, so he will always react strongly to anything involving that. It’s just basic psychology. And no worries — you’re not coming across as rude at all, I just figure people would prefer I explain my thoughts and whatnot.

Just to be sure, englisch is not my native language and I don't want to accidental seem rude, these are just my thoughts and I love discussing them. I didn't mean that he saw dozen of children die but grown up people in Grindelwalds memories and I can´t quite understand why he can be fine with that but reacts so heavily about the children. He wanted to smile when he saw muggles getting abuse but rages when a muggle child was involved. How will he feel about it when they grow up? Edit: Damnit I pressed enter to fast, hope you will see the edit.^^ Regarding the forshadowing, I agree but there were other things heavily affected him in the memories like the occlumency experiement but Harry doesn't seem to mind it anymore. Why does he make this distinction? In his childhood´he alwyas complained about muggles in general not about grown ups only.

2022-12-26 07:55:46 +0000 UTCI do disagree pretty strongly in regards to the comment about that choice feeling artificial. I think it feels that way because it was a sudden choice on Harry’s part, but if those sorts of choices aren’t sometimes made, then your character is not human. Any time he has seen a child suffer from the beginning, it has left deep psychological scars. Some of the only Grindelwald memories that bothered him all centred around children, Neville’s death bothered him deeply, Draco’s involvement with the Death Eaters bothered him, he was deeply upset by Ron being dragged into it and felt legitimate sympathy for him all throughout book 3 — this one has been repeatedly and not at all subtly setup from the very beginning. We can agree to disagree — I don’t see think something that has been constantly foreshadowed for 300,000 or 400,000 words is, in any way, artificial. Harry has also not watched dozens of children die, or be blackmailed, or be tortured. That simply has not happened, so I’m not entirely sure where that impression compels from. Grindelwald chose his memories very carefully — he altered nothing, but omitted plenty. I’m glad you enjoy the story, though, and I completely understand the choice to wait for a large backlog of chapters. I, myself, have been known to do that in the past. It’s just many times more satisfying :)

2022-12-26 00:13:04 +0000 UTCOK my question in regards to Grindelwald was answered and it fits, I still think that Harry sparing children feels artificial. He watched dozen if not hundreds of people die, killed others, blackmails and threatens. When he watched the Veela he immediately thought how great it would be to use such powers to mind control soldiers but children are hands off for some reason. Imo even with all his fury this seems shallow of him. I can't see him hold true to it when he gets pushed like Grindelwald. The way he handle Pansy hints on further missuse of his powers, playing with the minds of others just to have it easier. This is not a critic, I love how his morals slowly crumble. I can't wait for the tournament now that Harry is finally showing all his skills, this will be awesome. After reading all these chapters in one go I can again just say that I am in love with your story. I will wait until this and maybe the next book is out before reading further, it is too much of a torture to go only one chapter at a time when you dearly want to know where this going. :-D
