State of animation part 3 - moving on to integration/release phase

Hey all,

Probably the last animation preview for now, as I will most likely be moving on to integration phase.

As usual, some compression artifacts so things might not look all that crisp, and hair physics are barely implemented. As you can see, I also integrated some draft of a work on fluids, but it's still very minimal.

These last couple of weeks have been very educational for me, and I do believe there's a huge potential with Live2D animations for the game. Of course, I still have a long way to go and a lot of experience to acquire with the software.

In retrospect, I know have a good understanding on how to layer my PSDs to accommodate animation and it should be minimal work if I implement it that way right from the sketching phase. For these experiments, I had to relayer and redraw a whole bunch of the original illustrations which was a lengthy process.

I think these short, looped animations are a very good spot to begin with (especially for things such as in-game livestreams) and with time, I might try my luck with a much more elaborate, sequenced animation.

In short, I now have a bunch of pretty decent-looking (in my opinion at least !) short loops, so I will now move on to the integration part, try to clean up everything and see how I can implement these new kinds of assets in the game.

The goal for this release being to have a fleshed out, good looking sex scene, I believe things are starting to shape up.

Be on the lookout for more news, this update turned out to take longer than the first-anticipated schedule but I guess this is no big surprise as I tend to get side-tracked a lot. This time though, I think animated artwork will end up being worth it in the end-result.
