Yeah, it definitely is. But only for people capable of easily wielding it. I think it took Tsubaki weeks or months just to be able to control void energy enough to make a steel staff on command, if I'm remembering right. While it sounds easy and powerful in theory, there is an extreme entry requirement for skill

Remember that even Tsubaki, someone who has been noted as being highly capable at sensing and controlling energies, struggled when it came to utilizing the power of the void.
