Apologies

I've noticed in the past few months a steady and noticeable decline in patrons, and I want to apologize as I feel this is my fault. I just haven't been able to produce as much as I would like to, and as much patronage as I am getting, I only have 24 hours a day, 16 waking hours, 8 hours work (plus 2 hours commute), and I'm finding I don't have much time nowadays to work on the stuff that you're all subbed for.

I want to thank everyone who is still pledged and who continue to pledge. Some of the exit surveys have complained of lack of content and I totally understand. I'm trying my best, and I hope you remember I don't usually post my stuff on patreon, it's all public, I don't believe in paywalling my content, so I hope you are checking on the blogs where you want to see the content.

So solutions to the current problem. Should I post more content to patreon as well as the usual places? Should I lower the pledge tiers? Should I remove some?

Please let me know, I would love to continue to improve and provide content for everyone, and I hope you will all continue to enjoy it.

No problem ^_^ And yeah, I get your view on the OC situation :) Still think the request stream may be the best option, but then again, I don't know your day to day schedule lol

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to be more fair to those pledging a lot. Maybe I'll reopen guaranteed commission slots, or maybe just lower the maximum. The main problem I'm finding is just the time to do it all. As for letting OCs get more involved in content, I'm just not sure. I know people want it, but that can get really messy. Main problem is that including OCs in more pivotal roles would actually take away from the appeal of the content. People don't want to see OCs, they want to see THEIR OWN OC, so I feel the way I'm doing it now with OCs featured in minor roles or background is a fair balance, but let me know if you think otherwise. Same basic reasoning of Octavia, I want the story in Octavia to be a little more serious and timeless, and adding in OCs would be compromising integrity. I think given my current situation higher tiers might not be necessary or even possible. I'll have to think about it more and figure out what will be better for this patreon in the long run. Thanks for all of the suggestions though, plenty to think about

Hmm, this is a bit of a difficult thing right now, since me and people like me, are basically paying 50 a month for a chance at a reduced commission price and that's about it. I guess you could go a couple ways with it. Another pony artist I know COG Brony, just has 1 tier, called "helping out" where you don't get anything really except posts on here and the knowledge you're helping them out. This method would likely decrease overall income though, as nobody would have incentive to pay higher amounts. Option 2, you could have the higher tiers be more involved with your own projects, like for me personally, I'd love for Passion to play a pivotal role in returning Rarity to the good side in Nightmare Wars. Or for others, maybe in your Ask Octavia blog, you could add the askers OC in the image along with Octi and Vinyl. These perks would be exclusive to the highest tier and would obviously need a limit on them, but it would give people incentive to want the highest tier. Or a third option, would still be a chance, but if you ever find a day off during the month, you could hold a high tier only request stream once per month, like say 25-49 can get a sketch or two in stream and 50 and above can get a couple flat colored sketches or a fully colored one, if they want one full colored over 2 flat. Of course each of those tiers would have to have limited slots based on what you believe you can fit into a stream, depending on how long they'd be. But once again, it'd add incentive to try and go to the higher tiers again. And all three of these options could still have the whole "maximum of 50% off comms based on amount pledged" just for those that can snag a slot. Hope these ideas help, even if just a bit :)
