October Release - Scaled Terrors & Avian Menace

It’s time to reveal the wonders coming your way this October! We’ve got a sequel to one of our most ancient collections, alongside a new chapter in the ever-popular ‘Wilds’ series. As usual, this post is the place to find all the information - let’s dive in!

The Sekhaton Part 2

To stave off the autumn chills, we’re heading into Doaden’s Southlands to meet the Sekhati, an embittered race of Lizardmen who once ruled the World in a bygone age before the ascendancy of the warmbloods. Following from the first collection released back in 2021, this set aims to round out the Tribe with a few more important roles and characters.

Alongside the Miniatures, the Sekhaton Tribes faction book will contain stablocks for all the miniatures - including those from the original Part 1 release! These two sets have been designed to support each other, so if you need a horror for your new Scaly Necromancer to raise, then look no further than Ulununkhu, the Ancient One (just don’t ask us to spell it twice!) Stay tuned for a spotlight on Sekhaton Part 1 later this month, for more details and if we’re lucky, another cheeky special discount!

The Wilds Part 3

Not far from the Southlands, in the jagged ravines and rocky cliffs that line the edge of the Akhaemian desert, dwell the Harpy flocks, foulsome avian predators whose migrations spell disaster for any unfortunate enough to be caught in their path. Led by the cunning Margravine, there might be some chance of striking an uneasy bargain with these creatures - just watch out for the hissing terror that dwells below their roost!

The Faction Book for the Wilds Part 3 also contains a wealth of information of the world beyond the Azerai Empire, a perfect companion if you’re looking to travel beyond the borders to deal with the Sekhati, Balazar, or just chill out with the Alchemic Order!

Penitent Heroes - Return to the Underdwell

Stepping back into the foetid sewers and underways below Doaden’s cities, this month’s Hero Trio rounds out the first Underdwell collection with a Tank, a Ranger and a Support character, there’s some real weirdos in here, each offering a glimpse at a previously unrevealed part of Doaden’s history - One of the Sekahti diaspora, and a strange disciple from a distant land…

beutiful dark collection :)

What are you talking about? There has been no drop in quality or quantity. Having the variety of 2 different themes each month is so much more preferred.

Ben Valley

Agree to disagree, to me many of the best came recently tower of madness part 2, the abhorrent part 2 and many other with stunning looks and amazingly fun to paint

Jérémy Guay

Us too! 🪱 That Disciple is certainly pointing to something strange, wriggling on the horizon!

Hey there, thanks for sharing your feelings – good or ill, it’s passion that drives you, just like it drives us! Glad to hear you love Penitent Crusade so much – there’s something brewing here that we hope you’ll love! We’re extremely proud of how Bestiarum has developed and grown in the past years, we’ve cultivated a small and dedicated team of phenomenal creatives who share our vision. With a lot of hard work, we have found an equilibrium in our production cycle that is creatively rewarding, while remaining sustainable, delighting our audience, and most importantly, delivers a quality output – we hope most will agree, our technical miniature design has improved significantly over the years, with improved printability, durability, and detail definition. The switch to two collections doesn’t mean two-for-the-price of one as you describe - our resources haven’t changed so drastically that we can double our production capability. Splitting our resources between two themes allows us to keep things fresh, and ensure that regardless of your particular tastes, each monthly drop offers something to interest you 😊 One of the things we removed to achieve this was the large terrain collections - we loved creating them, but the simple fact is they’re a niche resource, expensive to print, that went untouched by the majority of our audience. We continue to explore ways we could develop more in the future - we love making it! In the meantime though, there is a huge archive of versatile terrain for dungeon-crafters to work with – Prisons, Vampire Caves, Mushrooms, Balazar’s Palace, Necro-Arcane Constructs, a Penitent War Camp, and a Dark Forest – if you’ve plumbed the depths of these sets already, we’d love to see it – would be an epic (and mammoth project!) We’re always developing our factions – this month’s Sekhaton, and last month’s Deadmire are good examples here – our supporters should expect to see factions and themes grow over multiple months – either revealing a new facet of a faction, like the Forsaken King, whose dark history expands the tragedy of the Deadmire, or the Sekhaton this month – where we sought to flesh out the ideas laid out way back in Part 1 – providing a foul necromancer to raise Ulununkhu, and conflict with the Bokor priests. Either way, we’re sorry to hear that recent releases haven’t been working for you. As ever, we aim to impress, and hope that something will come in the future to re-spark your interest! Thank you for your long support, and we hope that you’ll share your suggestions for future releases alongside the community vote threads – if there’s a something you’d like to see, and others do also, it’s likely to enter the voting arena!

I always believe in constructive criticism because it allows you to grow. I have been your loyal subscriber for several years. I consider some of my favorite collections like Calden Keep, Penitent Crusade to be your masterpieces... but. I don't really like the direction Bestiarum is heading. Since July 2023, when you decided to create double editions, it seemed like a fantastic idea to me (two editions for the price of one? sounds great), but I started to notice a certain drop in quality associated with these two editions in a month, and this month, unfortunately, I could no longer keep silent. I look with sadness at editions like "Court of Balazar" which were really polished - a lot of terrain elements, a large variety of models, beautifully presented models in the form of colorful renders, compared to the current edition in which we get a few lizards that in no way stand out with their terror from other miniature publishers and lack your signature style. I've noticed that since last year I've been seeing less and less of your miniatures on my D&D table because they don't generate the same excitement as the 2022 and mid-2023 releases. I hope someone reads this wall of text and as a team you'll want to look at your early 2023 releases and maybe decide to change something in your future releases, you have great ideas and in my opinion it's much better to polish each idea than to just create twice as many but with half the quality.

Ooh, I’m excited for worms now 🪱 🤩

Thank you as always for your support! <3

Not a reveal goes by that doesn't amaze and excite me. Fantastic work as always!
