April progress update: Factory and SHF3

It's not for lack of progress, though! April has been a bit different. I've been diving deep on Factory's code. At the same time, I've been delegating SHF3 assets to a team of artists. Things are going well on both fronts, but neither of these things are quite ready to show off yet. Here's what's coming:
Factory
There are five machine types planned: Milking, Refining, Storage, Research, and Breeding. My goal has been to-
- get all 5 machine types functional
- give pipes capacity and throughput
- be able to run through a full basic 'game loop'.
So far, so good! But I'm not quite done with the breeding machine yet. It's special in that it operates in stages- ovulation/oviposition, fertilization, gestation, birth, recovery. Once I have the full breeding cycle in, I'll make a progress update.
Right now, my focus is for this game is the code. I want to get this thing feature-complete ASAP, and then bring in the artists. So currently it's functional, not fappable >.>
SHF3
Code-wise, I'm working on portals. The next thing you'll see, though, is content from my artists. The talented PussPuss has been putting in fantastic work on the griffon and dragon assets for me. Between several vector artists and myself, there are also new pony characters and some exciting improvements to the rigs' mouths in progress.
Delegating more of the assets has been very, very useful in getting content finished while I focus on code and rigging. It does require more flexibility on my part to work with others' schedules and individual strengths, but the benefits far outweigh the costs. There's a lot in the pipeline, so my next post will probably be a mix of in-game assets and in-progress concepts.
So, April.
Usually I post access to an upcoming build if I can't complete an update by the end of the month. Since there isn't a build that's about to be finished but needs a little more time, I'm considering April a development month. At a time of global quarantines and uncertainty, it sucks to not be able to provide you guys new stuff to play with yet. If you need to cut costs right now, please take care of your essentials first!
In the coming weeks, I'll be able to share the fruits of this last month of work. Stay tuned, and stay safe out there.

But reading about the progress you made and that factory is already "functional" (even when it still is in an "early alpha state" of some sort) is definitely good news! As always: Take your time and don't forget to chew before taking the next bite. (•ө•)♡
