Hey Gang,
We’ve printed and photographed a whole load of December’s miniatures, and we figured it'd be a great chance to check out some details, highlighting what we love most about these new sets!

These models have been printed on our Saturn 4 Ultra, with SUNLU Dark Grey ABS-Like Resin. Here’s the printer settings we used:
Layer Height: 0.03mm
Exposure Time: 2.9seconds
Bottom Layer Count: 7
Bottom Exposure Time: 40seconds
With the Winter cold in full swing, exposure has been bumped. When things are warmer, we’re usually at 2.7 seconds. Either way, many of you will spot that the exposure time sits higher than common guidance suggests. In our experience, over-exposure detail-loss isn’t apparent until much longer exposure times, and the increase in printing reliability is a worthy trade off.
Printer settings are always unique though, how do our settings & experiences compare to yours?
We’ve printed a good few pieces from Kin of the Rat, and they’ve come out fantastically - there was a lot of interesting technical challenges with this set - most models requiring a lot of detail restraint, and the challenge of adding weight and form to swarms of individual rats took some real hard thinking!

With the Winter Stolstice looming, it’d be rude NOT to print the Green Man himself - we’re really pleased with how this fella printed. The difference in detail density between the leaves around his face, and the rest of the model is a really clever tool for drawing the viewer’s attention to the important part of a complex design.
Together with the Druids, we've got the makings of an awesome diorama!
Last up, we’ve got some heroes - starting with our Priest of Mologh, and the full Misbegotten Dhampir Party! The Dragoon & Anointer from this month, joining the rest of their kin and Vrykolas.
We’ve been working on building our Heroes Archive into balanced parties of 6 characters this year, and it’s super satisfying seeing sets get completed.
Expect to see more groups like this in 2025 - which sets are you hoping to see us catch?

Hope you enjoyed this model spotlight, and that it might have inspired you all to roll out some more prints over the holiday season! If you’ve got any questions about our printing process or otherwise, let us know in the comments!
Cheers,
Bestiarum Crew
