Who is the Traveller? - February Preview #2

We’re very pleased to introduce you to The Traveller, and oh boy, this little chap is eager to meet you!

Continuing our fractal Dark Denizens development, the Traveller was born out of a single concept that we couldn’t resist bulking out into a full Collection. Though a true Dark Denizen NPC, the Traveller will be joining the Tower of Madness series, for reasons that you’ll find out in the accompanying faction book next month!

The Traveller is a near-mythical figure in Doaden's post-Cataclysm folklore, appearing as an odd, diminutive humanoid. Tales tell of a wanderer who arrives with uncommon serendipity, offering aid to those in need. Friendly to a friend, fearsome to a foe, The Traveller wields power that belies his stature, a being whose purpose remains as enigmatic as his presence.

Let’s check out the designs -

The Traveller

The Traveller is most often a short, stocky fellow, appearing as an Artisan or Labourer. He may appear alone, or mostly bizarrely, as a whole cadre of clones. These duplicates think with one mind, and speak with one voice, a most peculiar experience for any who encounter it…

Traveller, the Amalgam

The Traveller’s obsession with mundane labour is most unusual, something that would be a charming character quirk, were it not possessed by an infinite entity from beyond the bounds of our reality…

Traveller, the Bearer of Burden

Reshaping itself into grotesque yet functional forms, the Traveller becomes a perfect beast of burden. It often rides atop its own self-creations, chatting with itself about mundane matters and vexing all who encounter it.

Traveller, the Endless

The Traveller’s true form is a towering, tentacled monstrosity, radiating unearthly power. With a pulsating voidstone halo, it warps reality around it. Rarely revealed, this terrifying form is unleashed only when the entity’s patience, or subtlety, reaches its limit.

Another totally chill and friendly character to dwell the wonderful world of Doaden, I’m sure you’ll agree! We had a lot of fun developing this set, it’s certainly one of our strangest for some time, we can’t wait to hear what you think!

We’ll be back again soon with the full February Reveal - where you’ll get your first look at the next set of Heroes, a trio of suspicious Witch Hunters!

Cheers,

Bestiarum Crew
