Bone scrubbin'
Added 2021-02-09 21:06:03 +0000 UTCStumbled across most of a complete sheep skeleton during our woodland wanderings recently!
We found a spot in the forest where a farmers field meets the woods, and along the fence was littered with sheep bones. You could see where the foxes had made their way through, caught their prey, and brought them back through the fence to the undergrowth to feed.
I finally got around to giving them a bit of a scrub the other day and maaaan they were mucky. One vert even had a little seedling growing from it, which I LOVED so that piece is now in the soil in the garden haha. It is really satisfying to see the bone underneath the mud though, as you can see in the last photo ~ super mucky thoracic vert with a lovely scrubbed clean bit in the middle!
These are all currently having a rain bath now in the garden, I'll give them another scrub in a few days and then it's on to degreasing!
