Happy Valentine's Day! I don't think I ever shared these here and obviously on other socials they're at constant risk of deletion so eeeek, glad I've got this space to share judgement free!

But yes. Cupid, but make it dark and ominous! I loved making up this character!

I'm not big on the consumerist vibes with holidays such as Valentine's Day. I do however love any time of the year that you don't have to justify indulgence, however that looks to you! It's always been seen as some sinful activity, and quite ridiculously so, as if we don't deserve joy and those who relentlessly seek it somehow deserve demonization or judgement.

In modern society we overly glamorise 'the grind'. Most of us have fallen victim to internalised capitalism - thinking your self worth lies within your productivity levels / feeling guilty for resting / denying yourself pleasures to be solely focused on work etc. It is not a shameful act to want to revel in enjoyment for your time here on this earth!

I love Valentine's Day because it's an excuse to do whatever makes yourself, or your partner happy for a day - but that should be every day!
