Oh it can be exhausting, the way my brain chaotically and consistently misbehaves. Learning to navigate the waters of neuro-divergency at nearly 30, whilst trying to set myself up as self employed with two different independent businesses is quite the ride!
Alas, I'm determined to hack my ADHD and figure this one out. I need the freedom to be able to creatively explore the tangents my brain provokes me into, and the ability to follow my energy + inspiration into whichever direction it so pleases without having to reel it back into structure. And the 9-5, like most other neuro-divergent people, can feel like a torturous straightjacket on the brain.
In a world where ADHD people are over four times more likely to end up in serious financial trouble and 56% more likely to unalive themselves, we just need to start making it a more of a neuro-divergent friendly place here. And 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 talking about it. It's through others creating safe platforms for discussion about this that I've started to feel less alone, and more accepted and valid in my struggles. And now I'm beginning to learn what works for me.. and what doesn't. I can almost taste the more suitable life that I'm inching ever closer to.
I'm determined to settle on the right meds, stabilise my finances, mental state and general life, and I am going to curate a beautifully feral, creative and exploratory life for myself that I adore.
