Added 2021-05-16 00:05:42 +0000 UTCWriting this took a lot longer than I planned. I've screwed up my editing schedule. But I'm gonna try and play catch up, and stick to a release on the 5th/15th/25th.
It's the action scenes! Trying to play choreographer, while also keeping the action flowing smooth, while also not getting repetitive, brings my writing speed to a crawl. I can write a 6k-word sex scene in a single day if I want. I can write a 4k conversation scene in a single day if I want. Action scenes slow me down to 1k a day.
I was very tempted to end this chapter with a quote from Sin City: "That all you got, you pansies?" But I don't think it'd fly very well in today's world. 🤔

The amber circle is on/off, as it's a ritual circle. The black powder, on the other hand, is quite literally an invisible magical wall, only breakable from the inside. If I was writing a normal vampire story, I'd have taken time to build up the mechanics of this, but since MLV is sort of an end-game vampire power fantasy story, I kinda jump over all that slow build-up, and get right to the end where hunters have mastered magical protection circles, and have unbelievably valuable, and powerful 'special dust'. Edit: I said one-way wall, but it's not, ha. It's a wall. I meant invisible wall.

But I assume that you meant that a break in it would only open the wall at the break and not take the whole thing down? I say this because I was confused about why Damian would check the hole, since Sándor was still pining Jack to the active wall.
