⚡ Booty Hunter – Devlog #11 – Weekly Update (Performance Mode & Animation Overhaul)

Hey everyone!
This week I focused mainly on improving performance and stability, since I noticed that some players were experiencing crashes or white screen flashes caused by the large number of animations in the game. Most of these animations rely on heavy use of masks, which can demand a lot from lower-end devices.

To fix this, I’ve created a brand-new Performance Mode.

🚀 Performance Mode

In Performance Mode, all stand animations (the ones where the girls appear during dialogues) are replaced with static images.

This drastically reduces the processing load, making the game much more stable on devices that previously struggled with performance.

🎬 Animation Overhaul

Since I was already working with animations, I also took the opportunity to rework every stand animation for every girl and every outfit.

Here’s what changed:

Instead of combining two separate files (animation + mask), I created integrated files that already contain both.
This reduces the need for the game to constantly load mask files, improving performance and preventing sync issues.
Many of the older animations didn’t have as much detail as the current ones, so I rebuilt them from scratch to match the newer visual quality.

This means not only better performance but also better-looking animations overall.

🔜 What’s Next?

Now that performance improvements are in place, here’s where I’m heading next:

Adding the remaining hunts in Whisky Peak that were planned but not included in version 0.10
Expanding additional content for Whisky Peak
Beginning development on the upcoming Halloween Event 🎃

I won’t share any story spoilers or details about which characters will appear — devlogs will remain spoiler-free — but rest assured this content is already in progress and will be part of the next steps for Booty Hunter.
