The slab that gets hammered off receives the player's name, opponent, and goal date, and is placed alongside all of the prior bricks in the team's entrance tunnel. When the teams line up to come out for the game, they are pass by the bricks, and all the names of players who have come before them and the moments they have created. Even in just a few years' time there are already so many memorable players and moments that have been captured in this way.
