This video is so relatable, even if I'm from a different part of the globe!

I really enjoy these history/culture videos. This is why I initially subbed to dkdktv. The Korean govt and tourism videos are good too but they obviously don't talk about issues or everyday citizens lives

Thanks for the video. It's the same in Norway, though less extreme. Put climate change on top of it all, and you have a generation with less hope and lots of cleaning up to do..

Love this explanation. I’ve always heard things here and there abt what BTS’ early social discography means but never in this detail. Now I’m really pissed off for the younger generations. To have to go to school from 7 AM to — 10 PM and end up jobless anyway. What a horrible joke. No wonder Danny has that sardonic attitude lol. Totally relatable btw. This vid needs to be seen by many people!

This is a fantastic video! Can you do one(s) on Korea's relationship with China and Japan from a historical, political, and business perspective? I remember a couple of years ago a Japanese TV show canceled BTS because of a shirt Jimin wore which depicted the US atomic bomb. I'm also curious how the new Chinese pop-culture purge will affect a company like SM which has a Chinese unit. Thanks!

It’s no where near as bad in America but we definitely got it worse than our parents. The housing crisis is really f’ed up. They are letting corporations buy single family homes and rent them out. Jacking up the rent more than double. It’s awful.

🤔Sounds similar to the real estate market here. Ridiculous difference between income & cost of living.

I also love this series. Much of this is also true in America, though on a less extreme basis. Older generations love to criticize the younger generation without understanding the economic realities and challenges. A college degree these days is seen as a baseline or minimum on a resume. Employers also want experience (impossible to get if you can’t get hired anywhere) or a masters degree (also out of reach for most due to high tuition costs). In Korea, it seems these problems are magnified, especially with housing, due to the limited supply and space in the cities. So what are the solutions?

Explained series is how I landed up at DKDKTV - may not be lyrics this time but insightful nonetheless! Slightly older video - 'How Gangnam Become So Rich' was very interesting too. Beyond some very evident cultural similarities, I learnt that South Korea and India share their independence day as well :)

I was wondering why so many go to the US and choose to stay and not go home. Your opportunities are slightly better. However, even our younger kids here are starting to know the same as Koreans. Inflated housing costs, difficulty finding jobs, choosing a partner much later in life if at all, choosing to have a pet not children, questioning the need and expense of a degree. It is a mirror of your society.

Thanks for pointing that out! you saved my asss
