i think the reason they mentioned seunghwan being a “big surprise” is he started SUPER popular pre-show (with hanbin + jiwoong) having already debuted but then gradually started to fall, despite consistently winning 1st in his performances. they probably expect him to go up but mnet seemed to have something against the kid and wouldn’t give him screentime unless they absolutely had to.
