Smooth work there, Miss Frummagem.
You know, I must have written this scene a dozen times. It was always either too explicit, or too vague. I'm still not sure I struck the correct balance.
Sette's obviously *moved* Duane's thoughts - or his heart, if you like - but to what extent and with what amount of success is not clear. He still seems like himself, but "You make no sense!" he said. She's muddled him, distracted him, dominated him.
This isn't prose, I can't describe in the comic what his state of mind is like at the moment, and I'm not a fan of him verbalizing: "I'm so confused, none of this feels right" again and again, particularly through the upcoming scene. But that's where he is right now. He knows this isn't right, but doing anything about it feels beyond his capabilities at present. And part of him distantly knows that Sette is to blame, as he makes clear here in the last panel.
But! She doesn't care. She's going to get what she wants. At least temporarily.
