Sette has exhibited some mighty strange behaviour in the past. Not only was she repeatedly really skittish around reminders of the twin sacrifice at Litriya, but she's shown off some weird abilities when it comes to pymary. From immediately turning a junked spider into a fearsome battle bot to usurping Quigley's Swarm, to attracting the attention of the pleading pain babies of the Nevergreen, to her entirely impossible bodily visit to the khert itself, there is something a little weird about that kid. In addition to all the OTHER stuff that's weird about that kid, as Elka helpfully points out.
Duane has never really known what to make of it other than chalking her up as some Sharteshanian mutation born of a mother that spent too much time in Beadman's cesspits. And the tail just makes him uncomfortable. But maybe he should start paying closer attention.
