Added 2025-02-12 04:39:54 +0000 UTCIf you ever played the game Bioshock Infinite, one of the characters had the ability to reach through tears in space into other universes, and tear things into her own universe, to help her. In the game, it was always ammo or health or cover or something goofy, and it got panned at the time for this lack of creativity.
But faced with something similar here, where the girls can find all manner of Whatever in the mnemonic sediment, one can be kind of overwhelmed by the possibilities. Like, the kids would be, I think. So in spite of there being anything from memories of a woolly mammoth to a pymaric machine gun underfoot, I feel they'd reach for what smelled familiar, and what seems to have the most immediate utility.
This is all to say this confrontation could have gone a lot wackier than I ultimately allowed it to go :3 There was a time when I envisioned First Sette instantiating a barquentine broadside and Sette F clapping back with a great white shark.
But tone, tone, this has never been a shonen manga.

So if the memory is of a pymaric gun firing, it will fire. But you could THINK it was of a firing gun, and find it's not at all, and wind up quite embarrassed when your weapon of choice doesn't go pew pew :)

There's no pymary in the khert, but the memory of the object might not care about that. Is this distinction how Murkoph seems to offset with no khert lines??

Maybe because she just strangled Sette? It would at least be a low to her pride), or (3) it would yank First Sette like she's dome to Duane and that is what we call comeuppance. (I guess there's also the possibility that the first soul snaps in twain and they both get their own minnies of the screaming birdy, but it might be around the same silly level as the shark fight.)

Of course, Sette doesn't want it either, because of all that "time to die" stuff, but she can't deny that the powers it gives her are kinda useful, and Khette having them is a disadvantage...
