2025-03-05 05:10:09 +0000 UTCFirst Sette hard forcibly tied it around her throat and gave it not choice in the matter, with the Soul crying and screaming in distraught protest. Sette F. held it as it was calm, it was startled by First's panic, and Sette appears to be accepting the seeming rejection. (I believe the Soul is actually now trying to get to its second half, as First is loudly doing in the background. The second half is still in the tangible world, as Jac is presumed alive. It has been about ten years past the scheduled reunion, hence the Soul's sadness. Our Sette is sad because.. well, we saw when she nearly dissolved into eels; she's worried about insufficiency and others rejecting her. Rejection from the Soul is akin to a rejection of herself.)

True death is to cease to exist; death in Sette's case is closer to entrapment or permanently relocation. Losing her body is a weird equivalent of a hermit crab molting (albeit into an arguably lesser form, as spirits cannot eat nor feel but through memories).

2025-03-05 04:55:47 +0000 UTCAlso, I know that Boo will likely be left behind if Sette F. does indeed find means of escape— bit I REALLY hope Sette finds a way to make Boo into a new, second soul, it would tie nicely into the ‘We need to fix ourselves’ thing Sette told Lady I. and make Boo's squish design into some awesome foreshadowing (lookit those wingy arms! Such a birby bug!). (And it would avoid leaving Boo in the Khert as they lack a body to inhabit, poor Boo.)
