I got a little verklempt when I drew this! Cutter is one of the oldest characters in the story, and he had nothing but hatred for humans, but it was a weird hatred tinged with pity from what he knew their (and his) fate was in death. He could have done a lot of things to rid himself of his human soul, but instead he was faithful to Ilganyag and faithful to his "friends," working towards their salvation.

There's always something a little admirable about loyalty. And Cutter suffered as much as anyone else due to it.

Originally I had Bastion here to witness this, but that scene didn't survive the final script edit.

I would like to retroactively mention the parallel of Phrakhuta asking snake boy to erase him versus the sad ghost who asked Sette to do the same. I said (or thought) at the time that the implication seemed to be that they intended for her to eat them. I don’t currently believe that Sette could actually, literally omit memories in the same fashion as Snakey here, rather she can only disperse them (rip, traitorous brother), but it is interesting to think that the ghosts *believe* she can, as though she were the same kind of thing as the snakes. One might say, if they were to stretch the story like toffee, that the ghost's perceptions of Sette are inspired by knowledge of senets like Ruck? My, shouldn’t he feel special. /hj

Yeah, the answer is that it looked cool :) Also in comics you kinda gotta go a little bigger and broader, so the situation reads better. I needed it readily apparent than this fellow is dying.

Wait- Prakhuta's arm is entirely ripped open, beyond a basic deglovement, how did that man not bleed out by now??? (Do the lizard folk have different circulatory systems?) (I know the answer is probably that it looked cool artistically and was a good way of conveying Prakhuta's gradual mauling at the hands of his ‘friends’.)

Rest easy, Delicious Lizard.
