Weekly Update #168
Added 2021-08-16 23:32:38 +0000 UTCWell, after dealing with the eye issue for a few days, I'm not sure it was a stye. There was one morning where I was in my hammock rubbing my eye, and then I felt something tiny and hard on my finger, but I lost it before I could look and see what it was. Then a few days later, I noticed that I only felt pain in my eye when I specifically closed my eyes and looked to the right as hard as I could. Like it felt like something was stabbing me in the eye every time I did that. Then after being a stupid masochist who kept on doing that every couple of hours as if testing to see if it still happened... it stopped. And I haven't had any pain in my left eye since. Though, it still gets kind of itchy (like right now), and there was one point a couple of days ago where I had this really weird throbbing sensation in my eye.
But yeah. The issue with my left eye is over with, thankfully. Funnily enough, though, now I've got a real stye on my right eye. But! Fortunately, this one is on the outside of my lower eyelid and very, very tiny. Not actually bothering my eye at all. More like just a super tiny pimple that isn't causing any issues.
So, for once, there's no bad news this weekly update. Thank fuck. There almost was, though. I spilled some liquid on my keyboard by mistake and it stopped working, but all I had to do was unplug it and let it sit upside down while I slept and then it was fine again afterward.
Anyways, I've got an eye appointment tomorrow to get my eyes checked out and to upgrade my prescriptions, so we'll see if there are any actual issues then. I've been needing one in general anyways. It's been many years since I've been to any sort of doctor and I can barely see at a distance with my current glasses. My mum has always had really bad eyesight and she's 20 years older than me... and I can see perfectly through her glasses now, so I guess my eyesight has officially gotten as bad as hers in half the time. That kind of sounds like bad news, but I don't really consider it that. I just think of it as a random, slightly interesting fact. Having bad eyesight doesn't bother me at all thanks to the powers of modern science.
Now, if I start actually going blind, then I'll consider it bad news.
Anyways! I just got some D&D books delivered today. I've been meaning to start collecting these because: one, I've always wanted to; and two, because I want to use them for inspiration, especially when it comes to their bestiaries. I do my best work when I have inspiration to work off of since aphantasia makes it difficult to pull descriptions and exotic creatures and whatnot out of my ass, so I'll be looking to these books for some more inspiration in regard to monsters/animals/items/skills and stuff. Basically everything that isn't character, setting, and plot.
Now for some memes 'nd things:

25 hours, 18,461 words. I think that if I can get myself up to 25k words a week, I'll be satisfied enough to never feel bad since that would be 100k words a month, so over a million words a year. Though one of these months, I want to do like... 250k - 300k in a month just because. And to flex. I'm going to be honest, it's mainly just to flex and one-up some other authors I know because I'm a competitive asshole when it comes to things like that. Who has the most followers or biggest Patreon? Don't care. Who can write the most in a month? Now, that's something worth fighting over.
The True Endgame
So. When a story is 10 volumes long, what do you do?
You romance the same waifus who have already been romanced... but with another character.
And so begins the arc of Saya seducing the harem so that she can officially become a part of it.
But more seriously, that's just going to be a mini arc of sorts to start the volume with, and then the rest will be focusing on more important and serious matters. Or should I say less important and serious? Because, I mean, what could be more important and serious than Saya finally officially joining the harem?
Well, there's also Mister Smiles.
And then there's Rao and his maid harem.
So much romancing, so little time.
Ero Dungeon Online
I think I know what my problem with this arc is. The whole proper conflict/resolution of it feels like it has taken way too long to get to given how short it'll actually last for. So, I think that if I were to properly edit the series for release later on, I would probably move this resolution with Akorya and her bully situation up to be way closer to when the drama was first introduced.
That aside, I'm going to be happy once it's dealt with and no longer on Damian's list of things to do. We can go back to really focusing on lewd things and the dungeon after it.
Lazy Dragon Queen
I swear that I intended to do a battle chapter.
But then slice of life happened.
I mean, is anybody really going to complain if this volume ends with group maid cosplay instead of a battle? Also, the second volume cover is complete! So now I've got to get around to editing the second volume sometime soon here so that I can publish it.
The Dungeon Hound
Welcome to the real plot of TDH. And by the real plot of TDH, I mean the lewds. Then again, we've been having ecchi. This is just the highest concentration of it thus far. Man, if I was allowed to actually write detailed lewds involving Woofen, this series would probably be pretty different and way more focused on that. Maybe someday I'll write a spiritual successor of sorts or something where Woofen can properly bury his bone. But until then, you should expect a bit more plot setup and the like next chapter!
The Tentacles' Tavern
We've got Lada established as a kuudere pervert maid at this point, so now I want to work on fleshing her and some of the other villagers out a bit more. Add some depth to them, you know?
4X
Still no idea what to name this. That being said, I plan on posting chapters much more frequently now since I'll be working on building up the ahead tiers. I'd like to get this published near the end of the month or at the start of the next. I also want to get around to a bit of combat-y stuff sometime soon here. That aside, the rest of the days upcoming won't really be as long and split into multiple parts. It's just these first few days being packed full of things to cover that's making me split them into parts.
In Closing
That about does it for the week! Thank you once again for your continued support, I hope that you're all doing good and still enjoying the stories, and please look forward to this week's upcoming chapters!
