FAQs
Added 2022-08-05 17:28:20 +0000 UTC1) Will the plugins work with an older version of VaM or an older version of BepInEx?
No. My plugins are always created and updated for the latest version of VaM and the latest version of BepInEx, currently: 5.4.21. I haven't tested my plugins with the BepInEx 6.0.0-pre version, therefore please use BepInEx 5.4.21 with my plugins, as this is the version that I have been using since releasing my first plugins in August 2022.
2) If you're using ZHFX's plugins, e.g. MMDPlayer:
I've heard from several users that they had problems using ZHFX's plugins together with my plugins. ZHFX is using an older version of BepInEx (5.1.0.0), which is not compatible with the latest version that I am using. I tried downgrading my plugins to the older version, but it did not work. Therefore, unfortunately you cannot use both of our plugins together, unless ZHFX will update them to the newest BepInEx version.
I've also had a report from a user that ZHFX's plugins might rename the file extensions of my plugins from .dll to .dll_ext, which causes them not to be loaded. Therefore, please also check the file extensions of my plugins in the BepInEx\plugins folder.
3) I’m not sure if the plugins are working or active
- Make sure you have downloaded the latest x64 (64 bit) BepInEx release
- Make sure the BepInEx directory is located in the Virt-A-Mate directory, where the VaM.exe is located
- Run Virt-A-Mate at least once after you extracted BepInEx in the Virt-A-Mate directory
- Check if there is a file „LogOutput.log“ in the BepInEx directory, as well as the subdirectories „cache“, „config“, „core“, „patchers“ and „plugins“. If these do not exist, then BepInEx did not start together with Virt-A-Mate
- If the above files exist, check the „LogOutput.log“ file for any errors or exceptions. If the plugins work correctly, then you should see the following entries in the log file:

4) Will the plugins be provided for other platforms, e.g. Linux or Unix?
- No. But if you have a way to compile the C# source code you could create the plugins for your platform yourself.
More Q&As will be posted, when questions come up.

Hi! This is just a warning and can be ignored. I just tested all of my plugins and they all work with the new version 1.22.0.0.
