Good News, Bad News
Added 2019-01-14 02:55:33 +0000 UTCLet's start with the bad news, because I like to end on a high note. I'm an optimist like that. Go figure.
I'm not going to release a new chapter installment of SC: Christy tomorrow (Jan 14). Why? I'm going to take a short break (1 week) and then start publishing...
The good news! Starting on Jan 21, I'll start publishing a new Summer Camp novella called California Dreamin'. (I suck at titles. Sorry. But you aren't here to read the titles, are you? Besides, don't judge me.)
The story takes place in May, 1985, so it's about a year after the events in SC: Christy.
And before you panic about spoilers, you still don't find out who dies. But the other big question...? Um... yeah. You'll get a hint about the wife.
Take a deep breath and relax. "Spoilers" don't really spoil anything. The Usual Suspects or The Sixth Sense don't lose anything once you know the endings. They're simply good movies, and you enjoy them more if you rewatch them and look for all the little clues you missed the first time. But I digress.
So, California Dreamin'... It's a story about Brooke and Paul and a big decision. They spend a long weekend together in Los Angeles, and— You'll have to read to find out the rest. Oh, c'mon! You knew I was going to say that, right?
Anyway, I hope you can survive a week without Summer Camp. I apologize for the break, but this is the first time I've missed a regular week since I started the Patreon. So I hope you'll cut me a little slack. Please and thank you.
- Nick
P.S. - I'll post California Dreamin' over eight weeks. Part 1 is only two installments. Parts 2 & 3 are three installments each. I'll return to SC: Christy, Ch26 once I finish posting CD. (And if you're a VIP or above, you'll get a free copy of the eBook when it's done.)
P.P.S. - Staff already had their break, while I was on vacation. So you'll still get the regular pre-release installment on Friday. Put the torches and pitchforks down, please!

BTW, that name came from staff, though I can't remember offhand who it was. That just goes to show that we do have input ;-)

2019-01-15 02:34:52 +0000 UTCWell, I think so, but lots of people have probably missed the clues. The new novella makes it a bit more certain.

2019-01-14 17:37:30 +0000 UTCHint about Paul's wife? If one paid close attention to Book 1 and some portions of Book 4, it's right there in the prose. :)
2019-01-14 16:32:12 +0000 UTCWHAT?!? THIS IS AN OUTRA...wait, sorry.... I've just been informed that this is actually entirely reasonable and awesome. Ahem. Sorry about that earlier bit. But don't let it happen again this week. (Cheers!)
