November 12nd, 2018: Progress Report
Added 2018-11-12 20:53:19 +0000 UTCIn the last Progress Report, I mentioned about implementing a system for Karen to be able to also initiate and retaliate with sexual moves. That had been successfully implemented a few days after I wrote the last Progress Report. I also quickly added a new system, which for the lack of a better term right now, I'll just call the 'sex counter' system. The system is where when Karen uses certain moves, such as a kicking attack for example, there is a chance certain enemies would, if the other requirements are successfully met, counter by inserting their dick into Karen's holes. For how much this system is going to be utilize I'm still undecided right now since it was something I implemented last Tuesday night while watching the election results on TV.
So to bring everyone back up to speed again, the following major system has been successfully implemented:
Enemies will use moves to raise Karen's Desires. The player can choose to use Willpower skills to keep those Desires low. Once certain Desires are high enough, enemies will start using more potent sexual moves that eventually lead to full-blown insertion and sex.
Karen is also able to initiate sex on her own if certain Desires are high enough.
When someone's Pleasure is high enough, they will have an orgasm and lose Energy.
Now, what I've been working on since last Tuesday are the systems that gives a reason to these system. And those are the Sexual Experience and Passives systems.
The Sexual Experience system is where Karen will get experience for sexual actions that happens to her. If she's giving a handjob, she'll get Handjob EXP as while as a bit of Finger Sensitivity EXP. If someone is staring at her, she'll get a bit of Sight Sensitivity EXP. If she has an orgasm, she'll get Orgasm EXP. And so and so far, you get the idea.
Since all the sex takes place inside a battle, these experience all get tallied up at the end of the battle and added onto the normal EXP she gets from defeating enemies, as well as additional non sex related EXP such as EXP she gets from using attack or willpower skills.
Some of this will sound very familiar with anyone who has played Meltys Quest before except there's a few major differences:
1. Experiences get added up whether Karen wins the battle, loses the battle or runs away. This is important because the scale of a battle in Karen's Prison can have as little as one or two enemies to over twenty enemies, so it is important to create a custom experience system here unlike other RPGMaker games that allows the player to get rewarded for what they managed to accomplish instead of all All or Nothing in terms of rewards.
2. Like most of the systems discussed in all the Progress Reports, the experience system is mostly custom coded and handled. In the front end of the game where players interact, this doesn't really matter but in terms of the back end of the game, behind the scenes and stuff, these custom systems are much more flexible and customization.
3. In Meltys Quest, once experience for something reaches a certain point, Meltys's Slut Level goes up and that's it. In Karen's Prison, when a certain sex experience reaches a certain point, Karen unlocks a Passive.
The Passive system is what brings meaning to sex stuff in combat, besides of course the pure act of seeing sex happening on the screen. Let me give you a few practical examples of how the Passive system works.
For example, once Karen gains a certain amount of Boobs Sensitivity EXP, she might unlock a new Passive that causes her to gain more Pleasure whenever her boobs get touched. Keep earning more Boobs Sensitivity EXP, and she might get a Passive that causes her Boobs Desire to automatically raise every turn in battle. Eventually with enough Passives stacked up, the slightest touch on her nipples might send her into a consecutive string of orgasms that will turn her into a quivering, sweaty mass of meat on the ground, which is surely not the ideal condition to stopping a prison outbreak.
Another example is how Karen begins the game will no ability to initiate any sexual moves. However, once the enemy has taken Karen's hand and wrapped her hand around their dick enough times, she will unlock a new Passive that allows her initiate handjobs. And then as she earns more and more Handjob EXP, she'll unlock Passives that makes her handjob better and better. But watch out, if she does accumulates too many Handjob EXP as well as other types of EXP, she might unlock Passives that increases the amount of Pleasure and Cock Desire she receives every time she is giving a handjob. Maybe in the end with enough Passives, giving a single handjob is enough to give her a body a blast of ecstasy that will make her open her legs to anyone right away...
That is the Passive system explained with examples. Currently the framework of the Passive system is completed. Actually coding in all the potential passives and stuff is still to come. On non-easy mode, the ideal playthrough is where Karen avoids succumbing too deep into her desires too quickly. The concept I want, is that it will be a hard challenge to beat the game while retaining as much of her purity as possible, and also a hard challenge to beat the game while throwing caution to the wind and not resisting any sexual advance. Why is the latter path also a challenge?
Because this game will have the Prison Order, Battle Lost and Bad End system. These systems are yet to be implemented yet but the basic idea is that once the Prison's Order reaches zero, the player loses and sees a Bad End. Of course, the player will then start a new playthrough with their choice of some or all of Karen's personal stats and experience carried over.
Order is something that gradually goes down every Day and is restored by defeating enemies and stopping Riots. However if Karen loses a battle, she will enter into a Battle Lost mode where she gets captured and held in a certain part of the prison. She will then have to fight her way back out to escape. While in this mode, the Day automatically passes every time she loses again which means the Order of the prison is dropping very fast.
Now the words I bolded in the last paragraphs: Order, Battle Lost, Bad End, Day and Riots; are not implemented yet. So until the next Progress Report, I plan to implement the Order and Edicts system. (I haven't mentioned anything about Edicts up until now by the way, that will be something I will cover next time) Look forward to them!
