Hello, Patrons! It's time for another script comparison post. This time, a real blast from the past, one of the earliest audios I ever produced!

In case you don't remember my goals when editing/expanding a script, I wrote a long post about that ages ago right over here.

The basic gist if you want to skip that: I want scripts to be as strong, engaging, youtube-friendly and on-brand as possible when I perform them. I've been very lucky that writers have let me (lovingly) mangle their work to shape their stories to fit my channel best and help make them more unique! It's tough to stand out when ASMRtists/VAs perform the same scripts multiple times, and my solution is weird performance/sound design choices and cheap jokes. It's worked for me so far!

Now, let's take a look at this one.

Bossy, Sassy but Loving Wife Demands You Take Care of Yourself!

This was one of the first scripts I went absolutely hog wild on with adlibs, and I remember the resulting raw audio was over an hour in length. That felt outrageous at the time but is honestly pretty quaint to look back on! Though I recorded it in June or July 2021, it took so long to edit down to a reasonable length it didn't go live until September...and promptly blew up! It remains my most popular audio to this day--though the first installment of the "(Recovering?) Yandere" series is closing in on its numbers pretty fast.

This is another one where the writer's reddit account is gone, which is quite sad, though the original script post on the ASMR Script Haven remains up. They deleted their account just a couple of months after I posted this audio if I remember right; as a result I was never able to officially ask for permission to share my script notes or even compensate the writer with a few bucks for such a well-performing audio! If they ever resurface on the Script Haven, I'll definitely try to fix that. The audio hasn't made a ton of money over the years its been live (its first few months online were not monetized) but still.

That said, I've sat on the notes for three years, and I do want to share them! Hopefully the audio ethics gods are understanding.

As I recall, I had a lot of Gentle_Yi's/Yi Song's scripts bookmarked for future use. (In fact, the very first audio I ever recorded--one that lies dormant in the archives--was one of theirs! The performance and audio quality was so bad it'll probably never see the light of day, though.)

Prior to this audio, the one I'd adlibbed the most on was Cute Clingy Girlfriend Misses You, but Bossy Wife was the one that convinced me I really needed to actually sit down and write script notes rather than just wing it behind the mic. Though the result sounds a bit less natural and casual, it does tend to take less post-production time, so I've stuck to that method for the most part since then.
