ANNOUNCEMENT // Back in Action!

Hello, all! It's been a while, but I'm finally ready to get back in the game. Here are some updates for you guys so you're aware of what I've been up to!

Personal Life

As many of you know, my husband was deployed shortly before I ended up taking the hiatus. It was a very difficult adjustment and that's why I needed to take a step back from Patreon and commissions. Due to the timing of COVID, I wasn't even able to travel to visit my family, so for the duration of the deployment, I was entirely alone. I have one local friend who I was able to see here and there but it was risky every time and so we didn't see much of each other as a result. Being completely alone like that was very, very hard for me. I'm an introvert and I actually hate people but having no physical support was not easy to deal with and it heavily affected my mental health. I needed to lighten the load on my mind, and so I took the much-needed break.

A very odd and difficult-to-manage type of art block hit me at the same time. I'm not sure if the transition into being alone was the cause of this art block or if it just happened at the same time, but it was not an art block I'm used to. Normally, my art block involves having the motivation to draw but not having the creativity. No ideas, no success in random sketchwork, etc. But this was the opposite. I was full of ideas but I had absolutely no will to draw. Anytime I tried, it was a very uncomfortable experience. I know drawing can be tedious sometimes, but it doesn't drag and feel extremely difficult to endure. I went several weeks without drawing a damn thing, and then when I did draw, it would burn me out and I'd be unable to draw again for several weeks. So, that was another reason I decided a break was needed.

Now, my husband is home safe and my drawing motivation is coming back. It still isn't back to normal but it's much better than it used to be. I still get easily burned out, but it doesn't last nearly as long. So I'm taking things easy, but since my motivation is "sensitive," I still don't plan to open commissions just yet. I did one commission recently and while I was able to get it done, it was more of a struggle than I'd wanted it to be and burned me out quite a lot. Still not as bad of a burnout as the last few months, but I think drawing personal work is just best for the time being.

Rewards

I will be gathering digital files for the work I did manage to do while I was on hiatus. It's not a whole lot, but I'm still gonna send you guys the files once I have everything together.

I'll also be getting prints together for those of you I owe prints to. I was initially worried about COVID shit back in April and was hesitant to send physical mail but now that the world knows more about it, I'm not all that worried. I'll be gathering those and will update you guys once I send those prints out.

I made a couple small changes to reward tiers. I removed the phone wallpaper reward since I've not made one wallpaper since adding that award, so I don't see the need for that to take up space. I specified what type of sketch commission the Planets tier will receive every month. And I removed the sketch commission entirely from the Galaxies tier due to the fact that it's basically an upgrade of what the Planets tier receives per month.

I think that's all I changed in terms of rewards--nothing crazy, just making it a bit more manageable and easier to keep up with.

And with all of that, we'll get back to our regularly scheduled programming! I missed you guys! <3
