FolderFrame v1.0.9

Update & Bug Fixes

Markers 1 & 2 will set the positions for the beginning and end of a specific position to playback on the timeline. The markers can be cleared by clicking on the button in-between.

I've added an experimental feature to the timeline that I've been working on to add an onion skin effect to SAI. There is an onion.dll file in the source directory of FolderFrame which is needed for the calibration.

The 'O' button on the timeline toggles the onion skin effect, which overlays a window with pass-through for the ability to also draw while the effect is applied. The overlay tracks the position of the SAI2 window in 1 second intervals and adjusts accordingly. On save of the psd file in SAI the onion skin and timeline will update automatically, so there is no need to do anything except for adjust the timeline slider to position the onion frames.

The settings button '...' located beside the toggle gives three settings to change for the onion skin. Color can be changed by clicking on the color boxes, Opacity changes the alpha of the window, but also obstructs the SAI since it is an overlay. Length changes the onion skin how many frames are rendered forward or back.

Before the onion skin effect can work. You have to configure the calibration settings at the bottom.

The calibration menu requires a few steps.

First, click the 'u' button in the SAI category to find the SAI2 window.

Next, Canvas, Scale, and Angle values need to be adjusted to match the highlighted area around the Canvas and Scale and Angle boxes above the Canvas. When adjusting the value for the Canvas, make sure the scrollbars are NOT highlighted as well.

Last, click the 'u' button next to HSB and VSB to find the Horizontal and Vertical Scrollbars. A prompt will pop up for each with intructions to calibrate. Make sure after calibrating the Canvas, Scale, and Angle values that the Scale is set to 100% in SAI

You'll have to calibrate each time you open and close SAI or open a new doc in SAI.

Once the calibration is complete, you can toggle the onion skin.

Note:

The onion skin is an experimental feature meaning that it is super clunky and slow, may not work at all, frames might be missing in the preview, and some scaling values aren't 100% accurate and may be a few pixels off.

Also, this feature only works for SAI v2 and not SAI v1 for now.

End Note:

Just a heads up, this might be my last update for a bit, give or take the next 6-12 months, before I pick this project back up again. So, this is a good time to back out while you still can.=]
