Important information about the AGLS 1.1+ project

I would like to share an important update.

 I am currently working on the development of the AGLS project. I plan to introduce several new systems, such as advanced covering, crawling, more locomotions like tired or injured, and much more (at the time of writing this message, I have mostly implemented the Cover system, which includes around 80 animation files). Therefore, I have decided that access to AGLS 1.1+ project files will only be available to supporters at the $12 level. I understand this may not be good news, but I would like to explain this decision. Mainly, it is due to the fees that Patreon and PayPal charge for their services. For example, for $10, I receive around $8 from the platform. Additionally, there are currency conversion fees, and finally, taxes in my country. This means that after all the costs are deducted, I end up with about $5 from $10. I strive to put a lot of effort into the development of my projects. I also dedicate a lot of time to them, so I hope this decision will be well-received.

I don't know how Patreon solves the issue when changing the tier to a higher one. This means whether the full amount will be charged or not. If there are any problems with this, AGLS v1.1 will be available to people for $10 or $18 for a while. Then I will probably remove this option.

Initially the AGLS 1.1 should be released between October 5-8. In addition to the Cover system, I have significantly changed the character architecture for Human AI (the controller itself unfortunately has not changed in terms of logic. I intend to improve that in the future), implementing Motion Matching and C++ code.I have also added a few other elements that should be showcased in upcoming videos.

I have extensive experience with Unity, but my knowledge of Unreal is limited, and I understand even less about how its animation systems work. So, it’s unlikely I could handle this alone, and I’m concerned that hiring someone might yield similar results. Successfully porting it to another engine requires a deep understanding of the system's structure. It's a shame—Unreal isn’t the best tool for indie developers like me.

supporting unity is unlikely, that would require translating and he doesnt have time for that while developing features for this. you can likely translate it yourself, or hire someone to. just dont sell it on the unity store yourself, that would be theft.

YO JAKUB! idea! release one more update at $10 and then switch to $12 from now on. - sounds like a ton of people will go ahead and update to $12 regardless, and - this would resolve issues for patreon upgrading, and - anyone who expected this at $10 isnt getting a raw deal

the codebase is like 10k lines, so i doubt he'll want to add a BP only version. the vast majority of the heavy lifting is BP, so you should be able to /mod/ it without C knowledge. but he added lots of convenience functions for himself. its unlikely he will move those to BP only.

Please either add a $12 tier or correct this to indicate you meant the $18 tier. I don't mind paying a few more bucks a month, but $18 is nearly double. So I sure hope you mean $12. X'D

Absolutely, this is a very valid decision; the project is priceless! Could I ask what are your commercial terms for this? I have not found any info on if we can utilize, e.g., the anims from the project or poses for a commercial project. If I missed the info, could you point me there, please?

I understand your decision, these issues are very plausible, I get angry with the issue of the government and its excessive fees, since I live in Brazil and our purchasing power is very low and those who are indie developers end up doing badly because, in addition to little investment, fees are very high, I recently subscribed to Patreon for 57.70 BRL (according to Patreon) but the tax alone ended up becoming more than 60 BRL which ends up being a high value for those who are unemployed at the moment looking to live the dream (if is strange and because I'm using the translator)

At 94% when I did the poll, I think most people get it and are happy to throw in extra to keep the project viable. I spend more at McDonald's drive thru in a single trip than on the monthly patreon support here. Looking forward to the next update and thank you for what you do.

Thank you very much, unfortunately you have to deal with this problem yourself. I have a lot on my plate, and I probably wouldn't have time to develop AGLS and create integration with ARPG at the same time

That's exactly the problem—unfortunately, I don't know how it works either. I will look for information on this. Logically, it should work in a way that if the $10 amount has already been charged for this month, upgrading to a higher tier shouldn't charge the full amount again. It should either charge the difference, which would be $2, or charge the full amount starting from the next billing cycle. If there are any problems with this, then for a while AGLSv1.1 will still be available to supporters for $ 10.

I don't see a problem with this change. A project like this on the Unreal Engine Marketplace would probably cost $200, so a $2 price increase isn't a problem at all for me. I do have a question, though. I just renewed my subscription, so when you make this change, will it cancel my subscription or will it charge $12 as soon as the change is made? I'm assuming I will keep my subscription and no additional charge will be made, but the next time it charges my account, it will be $12. Either way, thanks for all the work you do on this project.

Honestly mate. Do what you need to do. I tend to dip in and out but I’ll be happy to drop 12 bucks for such a high quality pack in say a few months from now. Not an issue at all.
