Alt-Version - Trial of Heroes - Released!

Hey!

We're pleased to say that the Alt-version is with you now - both via links emailed to you, and in the Vault here.

Now, you might recall that we asked for ideas for the location inside the Mouth of Vanth for the Alt-Version, and there were some great ideas. But one idea really stood out to us, and we decided to just go with it - felt very inspired! And that idea was from Emily, who suggested that the insides of the Mouth of Vanth would be a challenge or trial for different members of the party, and that they might encounter something different. So, we've put together a set of three 'trial' dungeons. For the melee specialists, there's an arena with doors waiting to spill forth endless waves of enemies! For rogues and bards, a set of trap filled corridors. And for rangers and spellcasters, a platform with hard-to-reach opponents!

Plus, if you're on a Foundry tier, the trapped version is all set up with toggle-able trap tiles!

So, enjoy! And thank for your support

Joe

Hey, Glad you like it. There's no resource for it - we wanted it to be flexible and let GMs decide how it works. The skulls I put as decorations- but decorations that will get the players worrying. Definitely a fun idea to make them talk!

Is there a resource or adventure written for these? I'd be curious in checking it out of so. Also, thanks for making the Trap Tile overlays; that really saves time. I'm curious what the intended purpose of the 3 skulls are (pink/normal/green)? A jaw is missing, so I assume they don't speak and give a riddle. They seem to be bolted to the floor. Do they hold a secret to getting into the chests? Or perhaps simply decorative Red Herrings? How would you or others use them? Also, it would be awesome if the 3 skulls were added as Trap Tiles as well, and the default "Inactive" map didn't have them (or better yet, there were tiles for them both present and not present). That way people can choose whether to use them or not. Of course, I can AI erase them fairly easily and create the tiles; would just be great if I didn't have to. :-)
