2025-03-10 20:46:03 +0000 UTCHi Dan. I was listening to the news & they were talking about the Hantavirus. They said Gene Hackman's wife was seen on store security cameras on February 11th. They reported she most likely passed away that day, because there was no cell phone activity or responses to her emails after February 11th. They said the Hantavirus can kill a person very quickly and usually kill before a person realizes they are sick. It was reported Gene Hackman most likely passed away on February 18th because that was the last reading from his pacemaker. They don't think he realized his wife had passed away because he was in advanced stages of Alzheimer disease. Since his wife was his caretaker, he most likely passed away from not being able to fix any meals and be given his medications. One of their dogs was found, deceased, in a crate and it is believed the dog was in the crate due to having been brought home from a veterinary office visit. Sadly, the dog passed as a result of not being able to get to food or water. The medical examiner explained the Hantavirus is not able to be passed to a dog, which is why the dog most likely passed as a result of not eating or drinking. I will always remember how much I loved watching Gene Hackman in the movie, Bonnie and Clyde. I loved that movie, and he was so great in the part of Buck Barrow (Clyde's brother).
