Added 2025-03-06 01:37:21 +0000 UTCBeen having fun with this job lately. I was having a go again at healing again, especially jobs I never picked up or abandoned long ago coughWHMcough and out of those 3, AST is what I enjoy the most so far.
Anyway, this is my go at a messier lineless painting, using the same brushes I use for the marker icons. I like how this turned out and it's very fun and relaxing, I don't wanna say what hour I slept because I wanted to keep painting this lol. It's great for simplifying the overall shape of something and the painting clipped in it makes it looked like I knew what I was doing and what the reference was. I mean I have the reference, yes, but I was not about to sketch and line whatever this is:
It looks easy relatively speaking when it's a still image like this but this thing spins and the spiky thingy is curved in areas so not as easy. But anyway, the point is: this is just paint enough of the details here to make it distinguishable but not over rendered.

2025-03-06 03:25:39 +0000 UTCThe shapes you balanced out with the AST globe works well! There’s definitely a lot of gear in FFXIV that’s tricky to simplify in this way, but it can be a good drawing challenge
