Wang Chi is the hero; Jack Burton the idiot sidekick. And for being one of the very, very few films made in the 80's that doesn't punch down on Asian culture. It holds up incredibly well.

Just remember what olโ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big olโ storm right square in the eye and he says, โGive me your best shot, pal. I can take it.
