Early Look: Jude + Oak ✏️🍂 + Happy New Year! ✨

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! 😍

I can’t believe we’re officially in 2025! 2024 was such a special year for me, and I thought I’d share a little recap with you here :)

Last year was a time of exciting new experiences! You guys know I’m an avid bookgirl, and in 2024 I started drawing more fan art of characters from the books I love :) I had no idea that it would lead me to meeting some of my favorite authors, but pretty soon they started contacting me and asking me to work on projects with them — and of course I was over the moon excited!! 😍

BUT that also meant I had to familiarize myself with the world of commercial work, which was overwhelming to me at first 😅 I started making friends with artists who work in that field, and asking them TONS of questions. Eventually I had things figured out, and I had the joy of drawing for the authors I love 🥰

What I didn’t realize was that it would eventually lead to book companies contacting me, and then I got to work on one of the coolest projects I’ve ever done in my LIFE 😭💗 I’m still not allowed to talk about it, but a little hint is that my work will be used in one of my favorite books of all time 🤭

The big thing I learned is that it’s so important to draw what you love, even if it’s not what everyone else loves :) It will lead you to the right people at the right time, and the opportunities that come your way will be something you’re passionate about 💗

ANYWAY!!! Time to talk about the art in this post haha — I turned the demo drawings from our new tutorial about Face Rendering into Jude and Oak from The Cruel Prince series! 🥰 I love these two and had so much fun drawing them:)
