The iMac SL (2021)

This video aimed to explore my favourite release of the iMac line: The original slot load (SL) iMacs. At the time, my parents were very much in need of a new Mac... I was counting on Apple to deliver at the October 1999 show... and they blew-away my expectations. Even releasing something very important for me as a 'Videographer': iMovie.

For the "rampant" Mac Pro (Early 2037) segment, I used the hard-driving Unreal Tournament music, "Go Down" composed by Alexander Brandon. He also personally contributed voice work and additional music to this video! Suffice it to say, I was blown-away again. The Mac Pro 2037 segment probably took more work than the entire rest of the video. It was heart-breaking taking care of the Mac Pro, 'Old Yeller'-style.

The intention is to continue talking about iMac in a second video, this time featuring the DV model, but I haven't got back to it yet. It was funny that I needed tray load and slot load versions of the Blueberry model for the video, and I found and picked-up both the same day! Incredible 4 years ago and impossible now.

By this time, there had been a lot of commenters, such as Rob Carr, urging me to join Patreon so they could help the channel by 'giving back'. I set up this Patreon account and first announced it in this video. I was, once again, blown-away. This time by the viewer response, with prominent Mac community members Tom Barber, Garth Beagle, Ron's Computer Videos, and Action Retro jumping on-board immediately, and a little later, Steve of Mac84. I much appreciate everyone's support, past and present, for what they have given toward these videos!

@18:46 - That's helpful to know! - Looking at local offers for "broken" iMacs to make headless and replace the CRT with a LCD - similar to the eMac `ibodnar eServer headless` guide from archive-org
