2024-12-07 18:40:26 +0000 UTCI wouldn't lose hope yet. For starters, Netflix doesn't control 'Arcane' as much as many people think it does. They're pretty much just the ones who paid to have it stream on their service. They didn't fund the series or spend any money on the marketing. That was all Riot's doing. They own Arcane hook line and sinker. The other advantage of Riot keeping most of the show's rights is releasing the series on Physical Media. And boy, did they ever. The first season of Arcane got not one, but FOUR different releases (Standard Blu-ray, Steelbook Blu-ray, Steelbook 4K, Collector's Edition Blu-ray/4K Box) and was also available to purchase in other digital storefronts like Apple TV. While I can't say that we'll get all the bells and whistles if Season 2 were released on Physical Media (Heck, I'm preparing for the revelation that there was no extended sex scene at all). And one other thing. The whole argument about cutting the sex scene down because it would affect the game's rating is complete nonsense. A series and a video game are two completely different products on different mediums. League of Legends does not have sex and you cannot rate a game for something it doesn't have. It would be like re-rating all the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to an R rating because they released the rated-R Deadpool and Wolverine movie under their banner. And if they're scared about their game being associated with a product that features adult content? That ship has sailed.

Iβm happy for what we got but Netflix needs to release a directors cut or something with all the cut content. Iβm sure it would take a while as Iβm sure the cuts happened before everything was fully animated but I still think thereβd be a huge demand for it. But with how much cheaper it is to keep all media digitized instead of pressing into physical copies, I feel like the BlueRay physical copies full of extras and such we used to get back in ye olden times are a thing of the past π

We go from Caitlyn bleeding out on the ground and Vi screaming at the loss of Jynx to... they're together and happy. That just felt too jarring. This reuinion would have gone a long way to sell the idea that they not only won the battle, but from that point on, this is the start of a new life for both of them. One where they can finally find peace and healing.
