Introduction

Destiny 256x is the 256px by 256px version of the Destiny resource pack. The latest version of the pack supports up to Minecraft 1.21.7.

The pack comes with 3 modules that are interchangeable with other resolutions of the Destiny pack for better performance. For example, if you want the best possible foliage and main overworld textures, but use a tier-lower resolution for other parts like blackstone (mainly underground, Nether, End, and uncommon textures like redstone), you can definitely do that. By doing so, you'll get the best texture quality while still having high frames per second.

So, these are the three modules that the 4.0 version of Destiny comes with:

Destiny – (Foliage and all the main blocks you see in your game)
Destiny SURPLUS – (Underground, End, Nether, and uncommon blocks)
Destiny ITEMS – (Items)

There’s no specific order to add them, you can mix and match them however you like. But preferably, packs like ITEMS or any module that comes after should go on the top of the list.

Set Up

There’s nothing special you need to set up to install the texture pack itself. Just add it to your resourcepacks folder in your Minecraft directory, and select them from the game to apply.

For the pack to function as intended, you need to use a shader pack. You can use either IRIS or Optifine, as the pack supports both versions. (If you're using Optifine, there are some Optifine-only models and connected textures.)

Shaders

You can use any shader that supports PBR and POM, but the shader I personally use while developing the pack is Kappa Shaders. So that’s what I recommend to anyone as well.
