We return to Liora's Price of Dignity this month. Last dev cycle, I prepared a whitebox, technical prototype and this (and the next Liora dev cycle), the focus will be mainly on turning it into a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and release that as version 0.1.0.
There's a lot to do, so let's jump into the weekly break-down!
Week 1: For the first week, I plan to scan RPGMaker (compatible) assets that have been developed over the time while I was working on SKA. I definitely want to check out https://cazwolf.itch.io/ as a new basis for the icons. Back then, when I started working on Aura, the packs weren't able to fulfill the needs of covering a full game, especially since those icons are less abstract. But it should work out now.
Similarly I plan to check out the progress on enemy battles and tilesets, although there it seems like everything has some sort of stylistic compatibility issue (e.g. overworld sprite of 2D enemy battlers not fitting into the pixel art style), so it's likely I will just end up using the same tile- and enemy resources for Liora. It would have also the benefit that whatever pixelart our pixel artist MemorableMan creates would be stylistically compatible with both games. But I will need to see.
Other than that, I need to go back to the game design doc, this time focusing on world building. I have mostly focused on the core parts up till now and now need to work out the details as a preparation to start the main writing process.
And the remaining time will be spent on mapping to start replacing the placeholder maps.
Week 2: Originally, I wanted to start the writing process in this week, but with the CG test commissions still going on, the standing image portraits won't be ready yet, so I will delay that to Week 3 and instead do another week of technical work + dungeon work this week.
There will be a new clause type to get Edgar to use items + he will be making Bombs for himself that he can also use at his own discretion.
For the dungeon work I mostly plan to finish the Castle Area 1 that I had started but decided not to continue until I had settled on the tileset to use for its mapping as its design is heavily dependent on the available cliff tiles.
Week 3: Then I plan to start the writing process starting with the Intro to get rid of the [NOT IMPLEMENTED] text boxes.
Week 4: Finally, on the last week, I plan to turn one of the lewd scene stubs into a "proper" lewd scene - well, we are at the very beginning of the corruption process so there won't be super much going. I'm not yet sure which lewd scene I will focus on, either Edgar Date or Rean Date Sex. I would prefer the former since it will contain some character establishment for Edgar which I want to get in, but it depends a bit on our art production state.
Based on our artist outputs, I also plan to integrate their work in whichever week fits best. It's also likely there will be a minor prerelease-11 deployment for SKA containing the next set of CGs for the Full-Time Maid Job event line.
