NOOOOOooooo Gunnerkrigg Court is legendary

Alizarin

It's definitely a good thing. But lol I totally get why you get self-conscious when you feel a little unusual. I think your comic's own range, your side comics, extra bits, and art spreads really speak for your versatility dude :)

Quality over quantity <3

One of the things I always think about, whenever I read your comics, Tom, is how dedicated you are to it. You set an example for the rest of us aspiring artists, comic artists, and long-time creative-stuff producers alike. I agree with Rachel Eady that it is so awesome to find you reliably update all the time. (I wish I could achieve the same with my comic, ha!) Yours is the single comic I have kept up with since high school as well, and that's a good 10 years ago for me now. I got started with you in the Drunk Duck era! (which in itself, showed me how webcomics can be a format for independent artists.) :D To this day, I look forward to waking up to your stuff every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You've showed us how dedicating yourself to a long term passion in a pragmatic way (always admire how you market! XD) is DONE.

Yasmine Pirouz

Small, perhaps, but uniformly excellent. It's something to be proud of, I say.

I've been reading your comic for over a decade and I *still* find myself continually impressed with how well thought-out the story is. The fact that it's spread out over time makes makes it all the more enjoyable to re-read it in its entirety every few years. I always catch new details and make new connections between story events every time. You've spent 12 years dedicated to a piece of beautiful art that delights people.

Sarah Manx

Art should neither be measured in kilogram nor in square meters. And you make great art.

Thomas Dorner

Personally I'd be impressed if I heard that from an artist.

RC

I believe he's said he has an ending in mind.

Also, c) one has to work at something for a long time just to get really good at it.

Mark

*sigh* b) you could show them one of your amazing splash pages to show how intricate just one page can be.

Mark

a) You are up to Chapter 64, so it really doesn't feel to me like your GC accomplishment is that small, and

I've been regularly reading your comic for 11 years. I honestly can't think of another activity I have so consistently enjoyed for so long. I think that the quality of what you create is something really special.

Isabelle CW

As long as you feel like you have more to say with it, I don't see any reason it would be bad to keep going.

I've been reading your work for a long time, since shortly after it began, among some other webcomics. I suppose it would have been back in late highschool? I always look forward to every update and read it the day it updates almost every time. Your comic is the most reliably on time, while also always improving in quality. Other comics I read back when I started reading yours have mostly all dropped off or their updating was so sparse I had a hard time keeping the enthusiasm. The only other comic I've kept with for so long that I can think of is Bad Machinery/Scary Go Round! That's good company! Three full colour pages a week EVERY week is an solid accomplishment, I can barely manage such a thing on a good week, and the people who can do more boggle my mind (But most of those don't do so as consistently, have smaller updates, or have a team)! Anyway, I admire your work and salute you! Looking forward to reading your work for as long as you keep making it!

Rachel Eady

I love your stuff - a poor sort of judge in the last panel! Your work remains astonishingly fresh and becomes increasing complex each year. I sometimes wonder if you already know the end point, or just the direction.

John K Sproule

I mean if all webcomics creators had David Willis' insane workrate when would we ever have time to read them all?

NickG

1900 strips (on Monday I believe) is a solid body of work by any reasonable standard.

NickG

I hope someday to have anywhere near your body of work.

William Burns

As someone who periodically rereads your entire archive (and Jeph's, for that matter), I would disagree with small body of work. :-) It's like saying, I dunno, Robert B. Parker had a small body of work, just the 35ish Spenser novels (okay, and some others, but you see what I mean.)

R. Francis Smith

ha ha ha ha yeahhhhhh

Jeph Jacques

I don't know if four (five??) volumes is a "small" body of work! I don't even have one 😓
