I like the idea of that symmetry between Gus and Don Eladio. It's interesting to think about.

Loved the last Rich scene when I initially saw this episode; it's a perfectly affable, getting Saul's chosen name correct in way that either infers Rich's inherent decency or is a little snipe- of which there's no other reason to take as a snipe other than being unable to shake that Rich is actually just as cool and suave as a he seems, given his archetype and Jimmy's moments of pettiness towards him; the show did a lot in making him and Cliff as likeable as they are.

The one thing in this video I disagree on is the look between Gus and Mike after the Lalo problem was settled; Mike seemed annoyed at the speed at which Gus wanted to resume construction of the lab, and they looked each other in the eyes in a way that go me gave- Gus seeing how much hate Mike has in his eyes for him, like Don Eladio mentioned seeing in Gus's eye (to me it seemed like Gus was looking for something while Mike was just in place, subject to the inquisition of his boss); there not being much difference between the two in the end, just like Papa Varga noted between these gangster's in general- and I think that interpretation is more in line with the general discomfort and shallowness Mike and Gus's chosen life entails as their BB universe ends in this episode, emphasizes.

Damn, the edited-in notes at the 30 minutes mark were fire. Im glad you put that in because I think that observation is SPOT ON and as you said, makes this all much more tragic. One of my favourite episodes in that regard, pure Tragedy

There'll be a movie in the next few days and then it'll be after that. I had to do 3 eps of Saul to catch up and now I have 4 episodes of every show that I can rotate through until they're done :)

This is the best episode of the series IMO. It's perfect! (and not one that I rewatch very often because it's too depressing lol). The Mike & Gus scenes are perfect and that transition from Jimmy to Saul at the end is absolutely heartwrenching. Not to mention the cinematography is incredibly beautiful.

100% agree with you on Kim and Jimmy, but one thing to point out. Kim does tell Jimmy that together they are poison. It's sad that she doesn't give him the chance and I believe in my heart of hearts that he would have quit law and packed up everything just to be with her. I just think the trauma was too much for her. She had to run away. The scene with Gus at the bar... ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ. Truly looking forward to the next reactions cause I could have sworn there was only one episode left. What did my brain block out? And Hello, Flimothy. Forgive me for calling you Timothy last episode. And... as for ahem...๐ men trying to um... um... blow their own horn? There is a non-pornographic cult-classic film (which is a bit graphic but it's not porno) called "Shortbus" where there is proof that can be done. Lots of yoga. No need to do cocaine. Very good film. Hard to find. Worth a watch for LGBTQIAP and allies. A bit graphic. But the point is...it's doable.

Ah man...these are coming so fast. Love it. And right when my procrastination break was concluding lol. So worth it though.
