“Why do you resist? Just let it go. No one would want to have anything to do with you after what you did! 

You don’t even know where you are at this very moment!” A cynical and evil voice kept on speaking in her mind.

Kiana has forgotten how long it has been. Days? Weeks, certainly, maybe even months since she's been walking…

Fighting Honkai monsters that she had released! She became a Herrscher of the Void and released those monsters into the wilds.

The 3rd eruption has caused even more Honkai Creatures to spill into the world.

“Ugh…” The girl’s legs gave in as she dropped on the asphalt. 

She was walking next to a highway for over a day, instead of walking to a city of considerable size. She went on the roundabout and went on the highway.

After that, she just kept on walking. She did see cars and trucks moving back and forth.

So she is still in an area where civilisation exists.

“If you think that you can escape somewhere. Then you are very mistaken, KI-ANA. I am in your mind”

The girl grimaced as she covered her left eye. She could feel her encroaching.

Her hand went to the pistol and picked it up. She slowly brought it to her neck and pointed at herself.

“Do you think that will solve anything? You might end up with yourself and me, but there will be other Herrschers after me. They will end your friends and the ones that you care—”

At that moment, Chariot and two Templars got closer to her.

Kiana frowned; she had an even greater urge to press that trigger, but at that moment, a golden hand slammed into the templars and chariot from the sky.

“!”

“!”

Simple strike and the Honkai Beasts are gone.

At that moment, something floated down. Dressed in a black hoodie, the hood covered his head, and a scarf covered his face. 

Though she can tell that it was a male.

“If you don’t want to live for yourself anymore, then don’t. Just know that there are other people who want you to live.” He said that to her as his golden goliath of a creature ceased to exist.

“...W-Who are you?” Kiana asked him, as at that moment she forgot about shooting herself and just looked at him.

“I am a Power Cultivator. I cultivate powers.” He replied as he looked around and then at her.

“And you are a Valkyrie who is running away. You are very far away from Schicksal.” 

His reply made no sense to her, but knowing that she is far away from that place is good to know.

“Now, why don’t you come with me?” He walked over to her and leisurely picked her up.

It took a second for her to process that!

“H-Hold it!”

“Relax. You need a place to rest and… get a shower.” 

Even if she didn’t see the frown, she did hear him react to her smell!

“T-That is what I said! I can walk by myself!” She tried to struggle for a bit, but he was holding her like he had a vice grip of a crab or something!

“Who said about walking?” He replied before jumping a huge distance.

He landed on the top of a highway lamp before jumping to a third lamp and then down from the highway, into a road that leads away from the highway.

“...Ummm…” She quickly realised that this guy was not normal by any stretch of imagination! 

Kiana realised that they arrived at a mid-sized town of some sort, passing by suburban areas and landing in front of a house.

He then took her to his house. And only letting her walk once inside.

“...Ummm… you do know that there is a reason why I am running?” She asked him. Her voice was…sad, even resigned to something.

“...What if I told you that I am the one who caused all of this over the world? That my actions caused these things to appear.” The girl said while waiting for him to snap at her.

“And that’s where you are lying.” He replied while removing his scarf and the hood, then took off the black hoodie as well.

“?”

She looked confused. How did he come to this conclusion?

“You have a very negative presence inside of you. It’s not you, but this presence that does all of this.” He looked at her after taking off his hoodie.

“...So you know why I need to be away from here!” The girl frowned in deep annoyance! 

“You even brought me into a town full of innocent people!”

“What if I tell you that I can fix your issue?” 

Kiana stopped in her tracks as she looked at him.

“...”

“I cultivate powers.” As he said that, a golden presence appeared behind him.

“This is my mind.” The Golden being pointed one of his fingers at his head.

“...”

“...You mean… You can deal… with her?” Kiana’s eyes grew big as a bit of light returned to her eyes.

“I can.” He walked over and placed one of his fingers on her forehead. Golden radiance began to flow into her.

This energy calmed her down; that voice… that presence retreated, as if it were suppressed considerably.

‘I-It worked! I-I can barely tell that it’s there!’

“T-Thank you!”

He smiled with a nod.

“Now take a shower, and I will start making some food.”

“O-Okay… by the way. I am Kiana Kaslana, nice to meet you, my heroic stranger.” She smiled even more while saying that.

“It’s Raynor Valeron, Kiana. I will prepare some clothes for you while you shower.”

With that said, he showed her where the bathroom is, then went to get some clothes.

As he was away, Kiana began to undress, throwing aside her one-piece battlesuit and then removing her panties. 

Once naked, she got into the shower, closed the shower door behind her and turned the water on.

“Oh… it has been ages…” She whispered to herself as warm water dropped on her.

The girl then undid her braids as the water got her hair wet.

After a while, she took a sponge and checked out what kind of soup there was.

Kiana took the first one her eyes fell on, as she didn’t know any of the brands.

A bit later, the doors opened.

“I left some spare clothes.” His voice reached her. The girl stiffened when she heard him.

“T-Thanks.” 

She said after taking a deep breath.

“Don’t mention it.”

He said after a bit. The guy then left the bathroom, and the girl returned to her washing up.

Around ten minutes later, Kiana left the shower and began to dry herself off with a towel, then she looked at the clothes.

She was surprised that they were girls' clothes. Though… for panties, she will have to deal with shorts.

‘Better than nothing.’

Once dressed up, she left the bathroom and her nose was assaulted by fried food.

Her stomach immediately rumbled.

“Ugh… how long has it been?” She mumbled to herself before walking to the kitchen. 

When she saw him cook, the girl stopped for a second.

Taking his looks in for a bit. Then she realised that…how is she going to pay back for all this help?

Her old man taught her to pay back… but what could she pay with? He made her Herrscher persona calm.

That alone made him a saviour of the world! She was close to snapping and letting that evil woman take over.

“...Ummm… thanks for letting me use the shower.” She fiddled with the sleeves of the hoodie she was wearing.

“...” He turned to the side and looked at her.

“No worries. It would seem my sister’s clothes fit you well.” Raynor nodded as he looked at her from top to bottom.

“...You have a sister?” She asked, curious.

“Yep, married, with a husband and a child.” He replied, making her a bit dissapointed.

But then he smiled at her.

“Are you dissapointed?” He asked with a smile.

“...N-No I mean… you know…” The girl looked nervous for a bit.

“I know.” He smiled even more. “You do realise you are in a guy's house in the late evening?” Raynor commented with a raised eyebrow.

Kiana realised something as she began to get nervous.

“...Y-You…what are you going to do?” She asked! Worried a bit.

“Something any self-respecting man would do.” As he said that, the corridor’s door opened and a woman walked in.

“Mom, you are back. Meet my girlfriend, her name is Kiana Kaslana, and she is a Valkyrie.” 

The white-haired girl’s blue eyes widened to a massive degree as she looked at him, and he smiled back. His smile was beautiful!

He then swiftly brought a plate over with food as he leaned forward and whispered to her.

“And that is to wife up a beautiful girl.” 

Her mouth slightly opened before closing.

‘T-This guy! He set it up!’

“Oh my gosh! She is gorgeous!” His mother strolled over; she didn’t even remove her coat or shoes. Instead, she walked to the kitchen and looked at Kiana.

“Yep, I heard valkyries are all gorgeous girls,” Raynor said with a small smile.

“Yes. But it’s already late…” 

“Don’t worry, she will stay here for a bit. Valkyrie stuff. She got deployed without having a chance to get her clothes.

Thankfully, she was very close.”

Kiana realised that his mother was eating everything from his hand, and the longer she listened, the harder it was for her to deny any of that!

“Oh my! I heard much about you, Valkyries! It’s like some sort of world army.”

“Hehe, Yes… I mean… we deal with Honkai threats.” 

“Yes. I heard that they are more frequent now.” The moment she mentioned that, Kiana grimaced.

“Why do we talk about something else. I made food, Mom.” 

Raynor brought over her plate as well.

“OH! right!”

The woman scrambled, realising that she was dressed in her coat and shoes. She swiftly left the kitchen.

At that moment, Kiana looked at him as if he were a criminal.

“...W-Why did you say that!”

He smirked at her. 

“Do you think I will just teach you and then you can walk away?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.

“You are in far-far more danger than you realise. That thing inside of you carries the will of the force that wasn’t to destroy humanity.”

“...I know! And you just decided to call me your girlfriend!” She complained at him, though…

“What don’t you like about that idea?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.

“...No…I mean…” 

For a second, she pouted, but then she sighed.

“...Fine. Just know that I am high maintenance!” The girl said the last part with ‘hmph!’

“You don’t say.” Raynor eyerolled. 

At that moment, Kiana realised what this meant!

“N-Not that way! Damn it! I didn’t mean… in world-ending way!” She hissed. 

Regardless, she smiled a bit, realising that it had been ages since she had such a banter!

Most of her memories before this were running away, fighting honkai monsters, sleeping on a hard surface, and covering herself from the elements.

Like some homeless girl.

“Eat, think about the rest later.”

The girl snapped out as she realised that she had a huge plate of food before her.

He had a much smaller one.

It’s like he knew that she could eat a lot…

“...follow up on my story if she asks things. We meet online while playing video games.”

Her eyes perked up. That is plausible… very plausible!

“I-I guess this could work.” She replied… however, she didn’t imagine how MUCH he knows about her.

So when his mother arrived and began to ask about this new, peculiar relationship, Raynor was ready to carry, and he had somewhat spooked the girl with how things perfectly fit in his story…

In an online game, they chat, eventually exchange numbers, chat via Messenger and all that stuff.

But then she got deployed and stuff.

It even made sense why her son began to train.

All of that just fit in!

Kiana even began to wonder who was saving whom here.
