Qian Renjue held onto the delicate hand resting on his waist and led Qian Renxue directly through the door.
As soon as they stepped inside, he withdrew the Evil God's Heart
A faint and elegant fragrance wafted through the air.
“Hmm?”
Qian Renxue raised her eyebrows, her gaze landing on the bed in the corner. On the neatly arranged quilt, lacy lingerie and other garments were scattered.
Her elegant brows furrowed as she turned her head to glance at Qian Renjue, who was pointedly staring at the ceiling, feigning innocence.
Narrowing her eyes, she asked with a sly smile,
“Jue, where is she?”
“She’s in the bathroom,” Qian Renjue replied, tilting his chin to direct Qian Renxue’s attention toward the bathroom.
The frosted glass door faintly outlined a shapely figure inside.
Just then, the sound of running water stopped abruptly. Through the glass, the silhouette bent down, stood up, and began toweling off.
---
Inside the Bathroom
Zhu Zhuyun carefully toweled herself off, her hands brushing across her ample curves.
Her gaze fell on the dark mark etched on her chest, and her brows knit in discomfort.
That spot had felt faintly warm just moments ago.
The thought brought a mix of shame and anger to her eyes.
Every time she saw that mark, she couldn’t help but feel awkward and conflicted, as if she had been branded—her body now a personal possession of someone else.
Shame surged within her heart. Yet Zhu Zhuyun dared not dwell on it for long, unable to forget the excruciating pain she had endured when it was placed on her.
Wrapping a towel around her vibrant figure, she prepared herself and stepped out of the bathroom.
---
The sound of the door opening broke the quiet.
Steam drifted into the room as Zhu Zhuyun emerged, her alluring figure barely covered by a towel.
Her smooth arms, long legs, delicate collarbones, and soft, fair skin radiated an undeniable charm.
Her hair was neatly tied up, lending her a polished, dignified appearance that perfectly complemented her mature, elegant features.
Suddenly, a commanding yet melodious female voice rang out.
“Jue, if you dare to look again, believe me—I’ll deal with you later!”
Zhu Zhuyun’s body jolted at the sound, her eyes flashing with alarm. She quickly turned her head and shouted,
“Who’s there?!”
Before she could clearly make out the figures, a low, devilish voice murmured by her ear.
“Sister, I can’t see anything, can I?”
Qian Renjue shrugged helplessly, Evil God's Heart emanating from his brow, spreading to envelop Zhu Zhuyun’s entire room.
“It’s... it’s you!”
Zhu Zhuyun’s eyes widened in fear as she clutched her towel tightly.
Her gaze landed on the golden-haired, violet-eyed man before her. No wonder the mark had started heating up earlier—her master was here!
“It’s me,” Qian Renjue said calmly, his eyes unwavering as they fixed on Zhu Zhuyun’s face.
Beside him, Qian Renxue also kept her gaze steady, though hers was locked on Qian Renjue’s profile rather than Zhu Zhuyun.
Her delicate hand rested lightly on his waist, the threat palpable.
“What... what do you want?” Zhu Zhuyun asked nervously, biting her lip.
Her long, porcelain-like legs pressed tightly together as her unease grew. She was acutely aware of her vulnerable state, and if anything like last time happened again, she’d rather die than endure it.
Qian Renjue chuckled softly.
It seemed Zhu Zhuyun still believed that he had placed the Mark of Darkness on her because she had ordered an assassination attempt on Zhu Zhuqing.
As he was about to explain, Qian Renxue interrupted, frowning at Zhu Zhuyun’s defensive and awkward posture.
“Jue, did you do something bad to her?”
“Of course not, Sister,” Qian Renjue replied firmly.
Qian Renjue shook his head, determined to maintain his innocent facade.
Well... he was himself, and his brother was his brother. Losing his brother’s innocence didn’t count for him, right?
Qian Renjue felt a little guilty.
Hearing the female voice again, Zhu Zhuyun finally realized there was a third person in the room.
Her gaze sharpened, and a hint of astonishment flashed in her eyes.
She hadn’t expected this devil to have such a beautiful sister.
Yet, even so, Zhu Zhuyun remained vigilant.
After all, wasn’t this devil himself handsome? And still so cruel? Who’s to say this woman wasn’t the same?
Qian Renxue didn’t pay Zhu Zhuyun any attention. A mere Soul Elder was nothing; she could suppress her with a wave of her hand.
Instead, her sharp eyes focused on Qian Renjue, who now looked visibly uneasy.
Frowning, she said,
“Jue, you’d better tell your sister the truth!”
“Really, I didn’t do anything,” Qian Renjue said with an awkward laugh, finally explaining,
“When I placed the Mark of Darkness on her, it hurt so much that she... she couldn’t hold it in and, uh, wet herself.”
“She couldn’t hold it in?!”
Qian Renxue froze, her expression turning strange as she glanced at Zhu Zhuyun.
“You!”
Zhu Zhuyun gritted her teeth in fury, her face red as she glared at Qian Renjue with pure hatred.
Under Qian Renxue’s scrutinizing gaze, her shame deepened to the point that tears welled up in her eyes.
If she weren’t weaker than Qian Renjue, she would have torn him apart with her claws and turned him into fish food!
Seeing Zhu Zhuyun’s mortified expression, Qian Renxue finally believed him and released her grip on his waist, standing properly to the side.
Still, she wasn’t naive.
“Hmph! We’ll talk later, Jue, about why you felt guilty just now.”
“Uh... this.”
Qian Renjue tugged at the corners of his mouth, silently berating himself. Why had he let his mind wander?
“Enough!”
Zhu Zhuyun finally couldn’t take it anymore. Watching their playful banter, she snapped, her tone filled with anger as she glared at Qian Renjue.
This was utterly disrespectful!
“If you came just to humiliate me, then congratulations—you’ve succeeded!”
Clenching her teeth in anger, Zhu Zhuyun shouted,
“If you’re going to kill me or torture me, just get it over with! Stop tormenting me!”
“Ahem... don’t misunderstand,” Qian Renjue said, regaining his composure and raising a hand to reassure her.
“I already said, you’re Zhu Zhuqing’s elder sister. As long as you cooperate, I won’t hurt you.”
“What do you want me to cooperate with?”
Zhu Zhuyun’s chest heaved under the towel, her fair skin peeking out further as she bit her lip, bitterness filling her heart.
Even in her own home, she didn’t have the courage to call for help.
If this devil truly wanted to take advantage of her, she’d rather die.
“You don’t need to be afraid. I’m just here to ask you for a small favor.”
Qian Renjue smiled warmly, though in Zhu Zhuyun’s eyes, it was utterly detestable.
Without beating around the bush, Qian Renjue continued after a brief reassurance:
“I need you to arrange for the Crown Prince of the Star Luo Empire, Davis, to meet at a hotel outside the palace.”
“What? What exactly are you planning to do?!”
Zhu Zhuyun’s eyes widened with alarm, her voice trembling slightly with agitation.
This man even dared to extend his schemes to the royal family!
“That’s not something you need to worry about,” Qian Renxue said coldly, her brows furrowing as she cast a sidelong glance at Qian Renjue.
Her tone carried a hint of exasperation.
He had already branded Zhu Zhuyun with a slave mark, yet he still chose to speak so kindly.
So what if she was Zhu Zhuqing’s sister? Keeping her alive was enough!
Zhu Zhuyun’s heart trembled at Qian Renxue’s icy demeanor.
As expected, the oppressive aura Qian Renxue exuded was no less terrifying than Qian Renjue’s!
In truth, Qian Renxue misunderstood.
Qian Renjue wasn’t as kind as she thought. He simply preferred to try persuasion before force.
If Zhu Zhuyun refused, he could always injure her and then heal her afterward.
Raising two fingers before him, Qian Renjue looked at Zhu Zhuyun and asked once more, his tone turning firm:
“One word. Yes or no?”
